I primarily use evidence-based treatment approaches, such as Mindfulness-based CBT (with ERP), DBT, and ACT in therapy, while taking into account a person's unique cultural identification and background.
As a social worker, I take a strengths-based, collaborative approach to therapy, meeting each client where they are in their journey, and attending to individual cultural influences that may impact treatment. I'm committed to creating a safe and respectful space where individuals of all ages can feel supported, understood, and empowered to explore their experiences at their own pace. I believe that every person has unique strengths and values that can guide healing, and I work alongside clients to identify and build upon these resources.

I use research-supported interventions like Exposure and Response Prevention ( ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
Starting therapy can feel intimidating for a number of reasons, and often requires approaching things that feel uncomfortable! I strive to foster an environment that is warm, supportive, and empowering. I have experience with a wide variety of presenting concerns, and have a special passion for working with individuals with anxiety-related disorders (e.g. social anxiety, generalized anxiety, phobias) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

Many of my clients are people who feel deeply, think a lot, and carry more than most people realize. They may struggle with anxiety, perfectionism, emotional shutdown, or patterns of self-protection that once made sense but no longer feel helpful, whether that may be from trauma or other life experiences. On the outside, they may seem composed or capable, while internally feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure how to access what they actually need.

My clients are people who often feel stuck in their thoughts, whether those thoughts are anxious, self-critical, perfectionistic, or filled with doubt. They might be struggling with OCD, social anxiety, phobias, trauma, or just the overwhelming pressure to always get things “right.” My clients come from a variety of background and identities. They want relief, but not just a quick fix. They’re looking to better understand themselves, break free from rigid patterns, and move toward a life that feels more connected, meaningful, and aligned.

If you’re looking for therapy that is thoughtful, goal-directed, and grounded in evidence, I may be a good fit. Many of the clients I work with appear to be managing well on the outside but feel overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck internally. These concerns may follow trauma, develop in response to chronic stress, or emerge as anxiety or sleep difficulties that begin to interfere with quality of life.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Therapists
Do I need exposure and response prevention therapy?
Many clients decide to seek help for obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors when these symptoms are distressing enough to disrupt everyday life. Any thoughts or behaviors that cause friction in close relationships are also worth addressing. In addition, the client’s symptoms don’t have to be severe for them to benefit from ERP therapy.

Is exposure and response prevention therapy part of cognitive behavioral therapy?
Exposure and response prevention is one specific type of CBT that focuses on behavioral change in response to triggering stimuli. It is related to exposure therapy but adds an additional component of preventing compulsive and harmful responses.

How long does exposure and response prevention therapy take?
While every patient is different, exposure and response prevention therapy typically lasts around 12 sessions, although some treatments can take longer. A therapist will determine if the treatment is complete based on how the client faces their fears, particularly the strongest ones. When a client feels less anxiety about stimuli that once evoked terror or distress, that is generally an indication that they are nearing the end of ERP therapy.

What are the limitations of exposure and response prevention therapy?
The most common pitfalls of exposure and response prevention therapy include not addressing a client’s core fears, allowing the client to avoid their most distressing stimuli, and using imaginary exposure when the client requires real-life exposure (and vice versa). ERP therapy is most effective when the client commits to the full course of treatment; if the client stops early or doesn’t practice what they have learned outside of therapy sessions, they are less likely to have successful outcomes.
