Reaching out for therapy takes courage. Whether you’re navigating a difficult season or sensing that something needs to change, you don’t have to do it alone. I work with adults across the lifespan who are dealing with anxiety, depression, relationship strain, grief, and major life transitions. Some clients come in crisis; others are ready to understand themselves more deeply and move forward with greater clarity and purpose. Many people I see are navigating midlife and later-life transitions—retirement, caregiving, shifting family roles, long-term relationship challenges or redefining identity after years in a specific role.

Right now you are probably scared. You know something needs to change, but you don’t know where to start. You don't know if this works and you're at the point where you are afraid that nothing will work. We have all been there, me included. I understand and I do not judge.

I see many children from divorce, children who need to develop self-esteem, better coping strategies, improve peer relations and work on anger management.
My concentration is counseling children, families and couples. I also see individuals. I use play therapy in sessions with children. I believe through play, children can freely express themselves. When counseling individuals, I chose to use CBT. I believe when negative thoughts are replaced by positive thoughts a person will flourish and feel unstuck.

Finding the right therapist can be tough. I've worked with clients that thought they were too "crazy" to be helped and others that were dismissive of their own concerns, thinking their problems weren't important enough to warrant support. Everybody deserves support and to find a therapist that really "gets" them.

You spend so much of your life holding it together for everyone else that it can be disorienting to realize you're not holding up as well as you'd intended. You’re exhausted, emotionally reactive, disconnected, or no longer sure what you actually need. Family relationships leave you feeling unseen or trapped in old roles. "Setting boundaries" isn't as easy as others make it seem. The pressure to perform in both your personal and professional worlds never really turns off, and even your “rest” feels consumed by responsibility and overthinking. If you’re quietly carrying it all, therapy can be a place to reset.

I work with adults on a range of issues such as anxiety, depression, perfectionism, social anxiety, anger management, etc.
Emotional suffering does not need to be our regular experience. We can and deserve to feel content, happy, even joyful. I am a licensed clinical professional counselor with over 15 years of experience who is passionate about collaborating with individuals to create meaningful, satisfying lives. I provide tangible tools for the concerns and issues that my clients face, while establishing a warm connection that supports and encourages people. Though therapy can be challenging at times, my goal is to help people experience a sense of relief and well-being that then carries into their everyday living.

Anger Management Therapists
How long does therapy take for anger management?
Treatment duration depends on the person’s specific challenges and circumstances. There are treatments for anger problems that are shorter and more goal-oriented, like Cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), which can last weeks to months. Others, like Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) may last between six months and a year, while a more intensive treatment, like psychodynamic therapy, is open-ended, and clients may see their therapist for a year or longer.

How do you know if you need therapy for anger management?
Everyone gets mad from time to time. But when angry outbursts become frequent and cause damage to relationships, whether at home or in the office, it may be a good time to look into therapy. A therapist can assess where a client’s anger may be coming from, suggest strategies for averting angry outbursts, and help a client create a plan to become a calmer version of themselves.

Is there medication for anger management?
Medications do exist that help people mitigate the feeling of anger, but these are reserved for people with anger-related psychiatric disorders, such as intermittent explosive disorder, oppositional defiant disorder, or in some cases borderline personality disorder. In these cases, antidepressant medications may be prescribed to help with the client’s symptoms. In most cases of anger management, however, talk therapy is the recommended treatment, along with lifestyle changes where relevant.

What’s the best way to encourage someone to seek help for anger issues?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either themselves or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
