Every now and then, life throws something at us that provides laser sharp focus on what really matters. That’s probably why you’re here right now—you’re ready to prioritize your wellbeing and make the change you've been longing for. For 20 years, I have been helping patients reclaim their happiness from the grips of anxiety, depression, stress, perfectionism, and just plain old feeling stuck. I work with individuals, mothers and daughters, siblings, and help couples redefine their relationships after time or troubles erode familiar routes to connection.

So often we go through life disconnected, tending to the needs of others, ignoring our own. I can help you reflect on YOUR purpose and goals. Prioritize your wellness and uncover patterns keeping you stuck. If old wounds and habits are barriers to forward movement we can explore how past traumas influence you today. If anxiety and worry is stopping you from living life to the fullest we can build coping skills, challenge unhelpful thinking and create action steps to face your fears. You can build a sense of safety that that allows you to feel more relaxed and confident.

Gabriel's approach is rooted in evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness, as well as specialized interventions like Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Narrative Therapy, SPACE therapy, ERP, Polyvagal theory, and RODBT.
ADHD, trauma and PTSD, and support for transgender clients can leave you feeling scattered, unsafe, or misunderstood. Do daily tasks feel overwhelming, or do flashbacks and intense anxiety make it hard to be present? Therapy can help you find steadiness, safety, and a clearer sense of self. I help people process painful memories, chronic worry, and identity-related stress so these experiences no longer control daily life. Together we build practical routines, emotion regulation skills, and affirming strategies that fit your life.

You might find yourself feeling overwhelmed, unsure of your direction, or caught in patterns that are hard to break. This can show up as anxiety, depression, self-doubt, or during major life transitions. You may be an emerging adult navigating identity, a young professional dealing with imposter syndrome, or someone trying to make sense of difficult emotions. What you’re really looking for is relief from overthinking, self-judgment, and feeling lost; and a space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported as you build clarity, confidence, and balance in your life.

In a world filled with uncertainty, we often struggle to find peace and stability. One way we can feel some sense of relief is simply by having a safe space. I believe one of the key elements of success in therapy is the therapeutic relationship. I prioritize trust, boundaries, and communication to foster healthy relationships for clients in and outside of therapy. Rather than exclusively treating symptoms, I am passionate about uncovering the "why" behind our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors by exploring early childhood, attachment style, relationships, and physiological wellness.

I use evidence-based approaches like CBT, ACT, ERP, psychodynamic, and trauma-focused therapies to help clients build insight, coping skills, and lasting change.
It can be difficult to find a place where you feel comfortable, seen, and safe enough to be real without fear of being judged. I want our sessions to be that place for you. I know that one size does not fit all and that everyone has their own unique experience and needs. I want to hear your story and create a plan together that promotes well-being, healing, and self-acceptance.

I use EMDR for my clients with a trauma past and ERP/I-CBT for those with Obsessive Compulsive traits.
Do you grow up in a family where you held onto secrets? Do you often times have flashbacks or wonder if you will ever stop having such a high degree of anxiety? Did your family never talk about boundaries, body autonomy, and consent? Do you find yourself barely able to trust anyone because of what you experienced in your childhood history? Are you looking for ways to navigate being a victim of abuse and understanding your identity as a survivor? Do you find yourself questioning yourself or doubting your abilities to do your job even though you are quite capable?

I use evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure and response prevention ( ERP), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
Hi, I’m Gia Hill, a master’s level therapist at Life Counseling Institute. Reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable, and I truly respect the courage it takes to begin. My hope is to offer you a welcoming, supportive space where you can slow down, feel heard, and explore what’s been weighing on you, without judgment. You don’t have to have everything figured out to start; we’ll take things one step at a time, together.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Therapists
Do I need exposure and response prevention therapy?
Many clients decide to seek help for obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors when these symptoms are distressing enough to disrupt everyday life. Any thoughts or behaviors that cause friction in close relationships are also worth addressing. In addition, the client’s symptoms don’t have to be severe for them to benefit from ERP therapy.

Is exposure and response prevention therapy part of cognitive behavioral therapy?
Exposure and response prevention is one specific type of CBT that focuses on behavioral change in response to triggering stimuli. It is related to exposure therapy but adds an additional component of preventing compulsive and harmful responses.

How long does exposure and response prevention therapy take?
While every patient is different, exposure and response prevention therapy typically lasts around 12 sessions, although some treatments can take longer. A therapist will determine if the treatment is complete based on how the client faces their fears, particularly the strongest ones. When a client feels less anxiety about stimuli that once evoked terror or distress, that is generally an indication that they are nearing the end of ERP therapy.

What are the limitations of exposure and response prevention therapy?
The most common pitfalls of exposure and response prevention therapy include not addressing a client’s core fears, allowing the client to avoid their most distressing stimuli, and using imaginary exposure when the client requires real-life exposure (and vice versa). ERP therapy is most effective when the client commits to the full course of treatment; if the client stops early or doesn’t practice what they have learned outside of therapy sessions, they are less likely to have successful outcomes.
