I have 20+ years of experience helping people with relationship/family issues, eating concerns, mood/anxiety disorders, interpersonal vulnerabilities and general work/life stress. I offer a therapy relationship that provides a focus on psychological wellness and a non-judgmental and collaborative environment in which to work together on personal growth and a return to a more positive and fulfilled state-of-being.

When life's challenges weigh you down or for those times when you might need a little extra support and guidance, I can help. Sometimes asking for help is not always easy to do, so I offer a free initial consultation. I will work closely with you in forming an effective plan of self empowerment. Our life's work is helping clients achieve a better sense of self and happiness...more recently we've recognized that without good mental health providers, finding this balance in life can be more difficult and stressful. As a result, we tend toward an Integrative approach and help our clients transform into the people they want to be. We see each client as an individual with many parts to their identity. Utilizing a holistic and systemic approach we help clients reintegrate the parts of themselves to function better as individuals and within their systems. Our focus tends toward a systems based approach using behavior methods.

In 30+ years of practice, I have seen individuals, couples, and families dealing with a wide variety of concerns. I try to provide my clients with an accepting, supportive environment in which they can openly express themselves. I view therapy as a collaborative endeavor. In line with this, I see myself as actively engaging clients in a process of better understanding themselves and figuring out ways of making the changes they seek. I have extensive experience in psychodynamic psychotherapy, couple counseling, and family systems work, and see clients in short term solution-focused treatment as well as longer term intensive therapy.

I have worked in the area of mental health for over thirty years: first as a special educator and then as a licensed clinical psychologist serving children, adults and couples from diverse ethnic and religious backgrounds. I am ecclectic in approach using elements from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Theory and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is critical for change and that the work must be done in a setting of trust and mutual respect. My special interests include working with individuals and couples on relationship issues and problems related to self-esteem, anxiety, and depression.

Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology and have over 13 years of experience working with adolescents, adults and their families. I currently specialize in the treatment of Eating Disorders, OCD Related Disorders, Anxiety Disorders and Trauma-related issues.
