Johanna Kasperski earned her master’s degree in counseling from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2015. She has several years of experience in counseling adults with depression, anxiety, grief and loss, trauma, issues related to coping with life and career changes, and family distress. She is an EMDR therapist.

As a licensed counselor with over 15 years of experience, I've helped individuals and families overcome the challenges stemming from trauma, such as abuse, attachment issues, chronic health conditions, and traumatic hospitalization. As a parent myself, I enjoy supporting other parents, specifically mom's redefine what life is like postpartum. From hormones to identity, I am here to validate and support you in all of the changes. As these growing pains cause stress in many areas, I support clients in navigating relationships, understanding their needs and make more time for themself. I also am not parenting expert as I am in the trenches with my two toddlers but I am always happy to share knowledge from other parenting experts that I lean on daily.

Born and raised in the southwest suburbs, I have settled my own family in the same community and opened a private practice in the Orland/Mokena area. You can expect a warm welcome and a comfortable environment upon coming to my office. The first visit entails a structured interview where background information and presenting problems are noted. A weekly time will be agreed upon where we will meet to work on therapeutic goals and current stressors. Therapy sessions are less structured and are tailored to the individual.
