I work with adults who feel like they’re at a decision point in life but aren’t sure what direction to take. This might look like questioning a career path, feeling disconnected from what once felt “right,” or trying to sort through competing options without clear answers.
In our sessions, I focus on slowing things down enough for you to truly hear yourself think. Together, we can talk through possibilities, untangle outside pressure from your personal values, and get honest about what feels realistic, meaningful, and right for you.

I work collaboratively with clients to create personalized paths toward healing and growth, integrating behavioral, educational, somatic, and inner-child approaches. I view individuals’ behavioral patterns through a framework that views most behaviors as responses that were developed for self-protection. Together, we’ll explore how to release what no longer serves you and reconnect with your inner resilience. Healing takes time, and you don’t have to do it alone. My style is compassionate, affirming, and grounded in the belief that everyone deserves to feel seen, supported, and empowered.

“Most people seek therapy because something isn’t working. Sometimes people do not feel equipped to handle life’s problems – work stress, family stress, health issues, etc. Many individuals feel stuck trying to solve problems the same way when those solutions are no longer helpful. This pain can leave someone suffering and feeling helpless.” I want to help you gain perspective and new knowledge and skills for change. Often this involves being more aware and present in the moment. Many people do not recognize the power they have to create positive change in their lives. I will help empower you to find your strengths and make change.

As my work with clients has evolved to incorporate many of the evidence based developments in the practice of clinical psychology, the primary focus and nature of my work has evolved as well. My current client focus is with adult men and women (18+) whom I see in individual therapy in either my Lake Bluff or Orland Park offices. The therapeutic relationship developed between a client and therapist is a core driver of consequence in the outcome of therapy and informs my preference in working in-person (face to face, in office) with clients. The potential for sophisticated outcomes offered interpersonally is unparalleled

My clients are often navigating major life transitions, such as academic shifts, career changes, or periods of personal instability. Many feel overwhelmed by uncertainty and struggle with anxiety or depression rooted in a need for control in an unpredictable world. This can sometimes lead to compulsive or self-destructive coping patterns. Beyond simply wanting total relief, they seek deeper self-understanding, healthier coping strategies, and a life more aligned with their values and goals.

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.
How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.
What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
