Therapy is a powerful tool—one of the most important gifts you can give yourself. It's a place for emotional support and a journey of self-discovery, healing, and personal growth. In therapy, you have the opportunity to reshape your present and future self, gaining clarity, strength, and resilience in the face of life's challenges. While it can be difficult at times, the rewards—improved relationships, healthier coping strategies, and a deeper understanding of yourself—offer the hope and possibility of a brighter future.

I believe everyone is born with the freedom and ability to construct the life of their dreams, but it might require confronting some uncomfortable questions and periods of self-exploration. Mental health challenges like depression, anxiety, grief, and OCD can get in the way of our daily functioning, but with the right tools and supports, we can get back on our feet. My goal as a counselor is to work with you to help process your thoughts, uncover your motivations, and align your values with your actions to assist you in setting the right course for your own life.

I work with adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, often navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, professional stagnation, or major life transitions. At the heart of my work is helping people find greater meaning and purpose in their lives. I believe therapy is most impactful when the relationship feels safe enough for clients to be spontaneous, take risks, and explore new ways of thinking, feeling, and relating: to themselves and to others. My approach resonates with people who want to deepen self-awareness, cultivate self-compassion, develop clearer boundaries, and fortify their sense of self.

You may be living with trauma, anxiety, attachment wounds, narcissistic abuse, depression, identity confusion, or chronic relationship pain—and wondering why the same patterns keep repeating. Together, we’ll work beneath the surface to heal old wounds, build self-trust, and create a life shaped less by survival and more by your values, voice, and agency. As a clinical psychologist with diverse training and a longtime Buddhist practice, I help clients understand how childhood environments, shame, and attachment patterns can become survival-based identities. I work with adults, teens, and couples seeking lasting change.

Anxiety, depression, burnout, men's issues, sexual addiction or compulsive sexual behaviors, faith-related concerns, and life transitions.
Therapy should lead somewhere. Effective therapy requires honesty, clear goals, and a willingness to examine patterns that are no longer useful. It should also provide space to heal from the experiences that have shaped you. The goal is to take what you discover in therapy and use it to make meaningful changes in everyday life. My approach is compassionate, personalized, direct, and grounded in an understanding that every client has a different history, set of needs, and pace for change.

If you feel like your brain can never shut off, I can help. I treat people experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, and panic attacks. I recognize how difficult it can be to find the right therapist and take that first step. You may have been trying to manage everything on your own for a long time because you don't want to burden anyone else. It's an all too common experience. Therapy provides a space for people to feel seen and heard, learn how to cope with things that are not in their control, and figure shit out. I love the work I do, and honestly, my job is to help you feel more like yourself again and actually enjoy your life!

Are you struggling with mismatched desire in your relationship? Do you want to enjoy sex more but aren't sure where to begin? When intimacy starts to feel like just another task on your to-do list, it's easy to feel disconnected—from your partner, your body, and even yourself. Your mind might understand what "should" help, but your body hasn't gotten the message yet. Maybe performance anxiety is holding you back, or shame around your sexual behaviors, relationship with porn, or masturbation habits is weighing you down. These struggles can be isolating, but you don't have to navigate them alone.

My clients are capable, responsible adults come to me feeling stretched thin and quietly overwhelmed. They’re dependable and competent, yet often feel like they’re not doing enough...at work or at home. They carry more than their share and struggle to ask for help. Many learned early to equate worth with responsibility. In our work, real shifts happen: less self-doubt, clearer boundaries, reduced reactivity, and a steadier sense of self. They stop running on empty and begin living with intention, not pressure.

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
