I work with people at all stages of the lifespan: in the beginning relational dance between parents and infants and throughout childhood, to adolescence when families help their children launch, with young adults navigating the world, with couples learning how to be intimate partners, when separation or divorce occurs, and throughout adulthood.

I approach healing through a
trauma
-informed lens.
Identities are complex and created through a collection of various roles we play throughout our lives. Oftentimes, navigating the balance and diversity of these roles can be overwhelming. I enjoy partnering with individuals who would like to further explore and gain a deeper understanding of their own self-proclaimed identities, no matter the intersectionality you may identify with. Being a first generation, South Asian immigrant, I can empathize with the need to find balance within the many aspects of our lives. These aspects, both external and internal, can be difficult to navigate – and you don't have to do it alone!

I specialize in supporting those impacted by
trauma
, shame, grief and loss.
Do you feel as though you are seen and understood in relationships? Maybe you struggle to find affirmation in your needs and desires. Or perhaps, you feel the pressure to be something you are not. You are not alone, many of us enter into adulthood feeling as though we are tending to a garden planted with the beliefs, attitudes and desires of others. In therapy, we can begin to question those beliefs, uproot what feels toxic & unhealthy, and cultivate a garden that is lush with meaning and purpose. Therapy offers a space to more deeply connect with the roots of our values so that we can find more fulfillment in life and relationships

I guide clients with the process of therapy to work through their challenges, which may include
PTSD
, loss, self-esteem and relationship issues.
From everyday struggles and family stresses to traumatic experiences, our ways of coping are constantly challenged. In my practice I support individuals in the development of their resilience to enable them to solve difficult problems and begin to thrive. With 20 years of experience my depth of empathy and skills provide the foundation for a safe, colaborative relationship. I see my role as helping people discover the value of connections and supporting them as they move through the process.

We all have words in our heart that are difficult to speak. Therapy is a great opportunity to bring voice to those words and make sense of their meaning so we can have a greater understanding of who we are and our place in this world. I view therapy as a unique opportunity to know and understand yourself in more profound and meaningful ways so as to allow true clarity, purpose, and healing in everyday life. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable to you, and, ultimately, we will work together to bridge your inner emotional life to past and current experiences to then provide a renewed and hopeful understanding of yourself.

Trauma and PTSD Therapists
When should I seek treatment for trauma?
Not everyone who undergoes trauma needs therapy to heal, but many do. If, after experiencing a traumatic event, you find yourself struggling with symptoms such as nightmares, dissociation, irritability, or emotional numbness—especially if these symptoms last more than a month and are severe enough to interfere with your daily functioning—you may benefit from seeking out therapy with a trauma-informed provider.
How long does trauma therapy take?
Different types of therapy for trauma unfold on different timelines. Prolonged exposure therapy and cognitive processing therapy, for example, each take about three months, while trauma-informed CBT may last anywhere from 8 to 25 sessions. Other approaches, especially those that are less structured or that incorporate elements from multiple modalities, may be more open-ended, though many patients report feeling better within the first few months of treatment.
What happens if trauma is left untreated?
Unaddressed trauma can have serious—even devastating—effects on relationships, career, and day-to-day functioning. Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can lead people to distrust or lash out at others, making it difficult to maintain intimate relationships; it can also trigger symptoms such as flashbacks or hyperreactivity that can interfere with a person’s ability to function effectively, personally and/or professionally. Some sufferers turn to drugs to find relief. Symptoms may lessen on their own with time, but there is no guarantee that PTSD will resolve on its own.
Can PTSD come back after treatment?
It is possible for PTSD symptoms to recur months or years after successful treatment. This is because, like most mental health disorders, it is not possible to “cure” PTSD, and stressful life events may cause symptoms to recur in even the most resilient individuals. There is no shame in re-experiencing PTSD symptoms nor in returning to therapy when such relapses occur; indeed, many forms of trauma therapy explicitly encourage periodic “maintenance sessions” to reinforce coping skills and ensure that symptoms stay manageable.
