Life asks a lot of us and most people in this world are doing the best they can with the tools they have. Maybe you are feeling sad, on-edge, angry, grief-stricken, burnt out, or just like things have been really heavy lately? I want to help get you back to feeling like yourself. You deserve to feel better.
Sometimes, we just need a few more tools in the toolbox, and to work with someone who accepts us, challenges us, and walks with us through the stuff we are facing.
I really enjoy working with folks who: want to get to know themselves more; may struggle with boundaries or people-pleasing; and/or who "grew up too fast" as a kid.

Daytime Availability. With 10+ years of experience, I have grown to believe that therapy is a personal journey involving self-exploration, rediscovering one’s strengths, and learning new tools through transitional and difficult periods in life. I understand therapy as a process that is unique to the individual and I therefore create a focus on how therapy best fits the uniqueness of each client. I feel therapy is a journey where a therapist and client identify a road map towards individual goals together, while working to establish the confidence and the resources so that the client may best continue their journey after therapy.

My ideal clients are individuals who are ready to take an active role in their growth. Many are veterans, high-performing professionals, or individuals who feel stuck—caught in patterns of stress, anxiety, or unhelpful thinking despite wanting something more for themselves. They often come to my practice looking for clarity, control, and a more grounded way of navigating both internal and external challenges.
Clients are typically seeking more than just a place to talk—they want practical tools that work.

My life journey has taught me the importance of embracing the pain, identifying lessons and moving beyond the turmoil. And, oh is that difficult, however, with patience, hard work and prayer all things can shift. I carry this motto while counseling clients, educating students and advocating for justice.

This is tough, and it's time for a change - that's probably why you're looking. When you look in the mirror ... what do you feel? Or, do you feel at all? Was it always this way? Are you feeling a loss of motivation, hollow, low confidence, perfectionism, blinding anger, loss of joy, or inescapable stress? If these things are getting in the way of a good nights sleep, work, romance, or life progress, I can say I've been there and it can get better. We can work together, one step at a time on your journey to living life by your own values. If you don't know for sure what your values are, we can work on that too.

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.
How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.
What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
