From my own personal journey, I have a passion for working with those confronting uncertainties around their sense of identity and how they express themselves. These uncertainties may be from issues related to gender identity and sexuality, difficulties with body image, or feeling lost in the transitional stages of life. I deeply value understanding the unique background of every individual and how the intersectionality of various identities impacts the equally unique nature of everyone's lived experiences. I believe this understanding is the key to developing an effective approach to finding and living as our most authentic selves.

Life’s stressors can quietly wear us down, affecting our mood, health, and relationships - sometimes leaving us anxious, shut down, or disconnected. The ways we respond to stress are not random; they are largely shaped by early childhood experiences, which influence how we cope with challenges throughout our lives. Gaining insight into how these experiences shape us, and exploring the root causes of our behaviors, "why we do what we do," are critical steps in strengthening our ability to manage stress, break old cycles, and ultimately feel better.

Traumatic experiences, regardless of what kind, leave behind hidden wounds and scars. Among many things you find yourself on high alert around others; bracing for some unknown threat. Some people may tell you to simply 'push through it' or just 'toughen up.' But it simply does not work that way. You, the client, determine when and what trauma material you are ready to process. We work to heal the traumatized self, in our sessions, through ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy), psychodynamic and Inner Child work. You don't have to suffer quietly alone.

I am an insight-oriented, emotion-focused therapist, grounded in psychoanalytic traditions. I pay attention not only to what is happening in your life now but also to your past and the less visible forces shaping your reactions and relationships. Sessions with me involve exploring these hidden parts, the ones that often operate just outside awareness. At the same time, my approach is integrative: I pull from other modalities when and where appropriate. Regardless of the modality, the goal in my work is always helping you suffer less, understand yourself more clearly, and engage your inner life with greater equanimity and meaning.

Using evidence-based methods like CBT and CPT, we’ll track progress and work together toward meaningful change. For men struggling with vulnerability, know that true strength comes from facing emotions, not suppressing them. Growth starts with awareness but happens through intentional action. You don’t have to navigate this journey alone—I’m here to help.

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.
How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.
How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.
What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
