I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 23 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. My clinical experiences afforded me the opportunities to help individuals with Adjustment, Anxiety, Depressive, Disruptive Behavior, Impulse Control, Inattention and Hyperactivity, Mood, Personality, and Post-Traumatic Stress disorders, as well those struggling with death and dying, divorce/separation, family conflict, grief and loss, identity, parenting challenges, self-esteem and various stage of life transitions.

Dr. Keren Cardenas is a Post Doc Fellow and Licensed Marriage and Family therapist in Illinois who has been practicing since 2014. Dr. Cardenas obtained a Doctorate Degree in Psychology from Southern California Seminary and a Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology in Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific University. Dr. Cardenas has experience in counseling couples, individuals, and families who are struggling to overcome barriers in life. She provides therapeutic cognitive behavioral techniques and strategies to promote the psychological health and wholeness of the clients.

Kristin is an experienced counselor, with a Master’s Degree in both Clinical Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy . She specializes in couples of all ages, who are experiencing challenges with sexual and emotional intimacy, as well high stress and/or anxiety with their partners or within their family system. Kristin works with individuals and families, and sees clients ages 10+. Areas of focus is individuals dealing with depression, interpersonal issues, illness/medical issues, life changes/adjustment disorder, pre-marital/engagement issues, relationship issues, self-esteem/self-worth and women’s issues.

The decision to seek help can often be difficult and filled with uncertainty, worry, and/or fear. Deb is enthusiastic and optimistic and finds great satisfaction helping her clients grow, change and live life more fully. Deb takes an integrative approach to therapy, drawing on many different treatment approaches ranging from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to Play Therapy (for young children), to Insight-Oriented Therapy. She tailors her work to the individual needs of each client.

My approach is friendly, straightforward and solution-focused, but with appreciation for the variety and complexity of factors that may be involved with the issues that folks bring to therapy. I have 30 years experience and have always lived in the Fox Valley area. I love to work with children, teens, young adults and adults. I can help to work thru issues with parenting, divorce, anxiety,depression, grief and loss , family turmoil, etc. you have the strengths within you and I offer the support, guidance and therapy to help you move thru these life experiences in a more positive and self fulfilling way.I also am able to use my therapy dog Patrick in my sessions and my clients have really enjoyed having him near them.
