My specialities are eating disorders, self-injury, depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive concerns, family issues, parenting strategies, self-esteem issues, teen dating violence, women's issues, domestic violence, and life transitions.
The struggle you're in today is developing the strength you need for tomorrow. However long and difficult any struggle might be, it always needs to be initiated with something short and simple. Once you get started, you only have to do one step at a time. I believe the aim of therapy is to work together on your journey of growth, healing and change. I want to move you toward the life you envision for yourself.

Individuals/Families Challenged with: Depression, Anxiety, Interpersonal/Family Dynamics, Grief/Loss, Behavioral Issues, Career Challenges, and Life Transitions. Ages: Adolescent to Older Adult. A recurrent objective is to explore my clients' challenges to aid in developing an awareness of conscious and unconscious thoughts, feelings, and beliefs that become drivers of actions that negatively impact quality of life. Once these factors are understood, real growth can occur by recognizing new ways of thinking, acting, and exploring options to lead to a more complete and fulfilling life. I work with child, adolescent , and adult clients and have specialized experience supporting preschool-aged clients and their families.
My ideal client is anyone willing to come to counseling and be open to the process! Regardless of where a client may be starting from or what they’re hoping to accomplish, I believe that anyone who is willing to show up and engage in the therapeutic process can benefit, and I am happy to guide and support them on their journey. I believe I would be an especially good fit for those clients who want to learn more about themselves and the “why” behind their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors; hope to develop a deeper, more genuine connection with themselves and others; and can appreciate some gentle challenging when appropriate.

Many of us reach a point where we feel stuck in our lives or our relationships. We realize that what we have done in the past to manage stress, to cope, to heal, to move forward is no longer working the way it used to and we need new strategies. As an individual and family therapist who has worked for 6+ years in two diverse metropolitan areas (New York and Chicago), my work has focused on family relationships, identity exploration, adult and adolescent mental health issues, parenting, social skills, grief, loss, and other life traumas.

If you are a parent questioning your abilities to help your child/ teen , a guardian watching your loved one struggle socially, emotionally, at school, or with an addiction, please do not hesitate to reach out.
I offer playful interventions to children and teens, ages 4 and up. I really enjoy working with parents on how to communicate more effectively with their child/ teen and how to build positive healthy relationships. Another population I am passionate about working with is those struggling with addiction. Addiction can be observed in many forms from video gaming, eating disorders to substances. Whether struggling with addictions to school homework, I look at the family system as a whole. This allows me to evaluate the individual needs of the client and identify what is needed to assist the client to grow into their best self.

Teen Therapists
Adolescence can be a time of both disorientation and discovery. The transitional period can raise questions of independence and identity; as adolescents cultivate their sense of self, they may face difficult choices about academics, friendship, sexuality, gender identity, drugs, and alcohol.

Most teens have a relatively egocentric perspective on life; a state of mind that usually abates with age. They often focus on themselves and believe that everyone else—from a best friend to a distant crush—is focused on them too. They may grapple with insecurities and feelings of being judged. Relationships with family members often take a backseat to peer groups, romantic interests, and appearance, which teens perceive as increasingly important during this time.

The transition can naturally lead to anxiety about physical development, evolving relationships with others, and one's place in the larger world. Mild anxiety and other challenges are typical, but serious mental health conditions also emerge during adolescence.
