Kelsey Oglesby
Counselor, MS, LCPC
Mount Pulaski, IL 62548
I’m Kelsey and my work as a therapist is deeply rooted in the belief that healing happens in spaces where people feel genuinely seen, respected, and safe to be themselves. While my training provides the foundation for my work, who I am as a person — thoughtful, curious, grounded, and relationally attuned — shapes the way I connect with clients. I strive to create an environment that feels both professional and deeply human, where growth is supported with compassion, clarity, and authenticity.

Hi! I'm Zoe, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who specializes in working with kids 10 and under. I started my practice because I believe every child and family deserves a safe place to be supported as they grow through every season. My therapeutic approach is rooted in providing a safe and secure environment. For kids, this often looks like incorporating play, creativity, humor and connection. For parents, it looks like having an extra support person to navigate the challenges of parenting.

You may be here because something in your relationship has left you feeling hurt, confused, controlled, or emotionally exhausted. You may have been in a relationship where your needs were dismissed, your voice was minimized, or your sense of self slowly eroded over time. You may question your worth, your decisions, or feel stuck between wanting to move forward & not knowing how. Abusive relationships are not always physically violent. Emotional abuse, manipulation, control, & psychological harm can leave deep and lasting wounds. You may be carrying anxiety, fear, self-doubt, depression, or a constant sense of emotional instability.

Life gets hard for all of us; different chapters call for different people to come into our lives. I would love to come along side you as you go through these difficult chapters. No matter if it is trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, marriage/relationship issues, foster care, adoptions, or the fact that life has changed in ways that you aren't sure how to manage. I have had the pleasure of providing counseling in both residential and community based settings, for people ranging in age from 12 to 80+ all within the past 10 years.

Have you ever felt like you’re holding everything together for everyone else, and quietly falling apart on the inside? Maybe you’ve been carrying something heavy for a long time — anxiety that won’t quit, anger that surfaces at the wrong moments, a numbness that makes you wonder if you’ll feel like yourself again. You don’t have to keep white-knuckling it alone.

Do you feel like you're stuck no matter how hard you try to move forward? Our brains can leave us feeling like we are at the mercy of our past. When disturbing or traumatizing events happen, those events can become locked in our nervous system as if we are frozen in time with all same uncomfortable feelings. People, situations, or events can subconsciously trigger those stuck memories leaving you feeling anxious, paranoid, irritable, depressed, or otherwise fearful without an obvious cause. Together we can heal your trauma and allow you to move on from your pain.

Hi, I’m Sara, founder of Root'd pllc. I’m glad you’re here. I know it can take a lot to seek support or admit that something needs to change. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a holistic, integrative approach. I help people understand their experiences, what they’re carrying, and who they’re becoming. Together, we’ll explore your thoughts, emotions, relationships, nervous system, and lived experiences, because healing rarely happens through the mind alone. In our sessions, we’ll explore what brought you to therapy and choose the approaches best suited to you. Everyone is different, and therapy should reflect that.

Anger, anxiety, and relationship problems can be very challenging. When we blow-up, it’s usually on the people we care the most about. When our relationships aren’t good, it can impact nearly everything we do. When anxiety becomes too much, you can feel as though you are lost or constantly overwhelmed. I specialize in helping people who are overcome by anger, struggling with their relationships, and/or frozen by anxiety. People who reach out to me for support realize they're not living the life they want. They know they’re capable of more and want to fix their situation.

When someone begins looking for a therapist, it usually means they’ve reached a point where carrying things alone feels too heavy. My ideal clients are people who may not have it all figured out — and that’s okay. They come to me feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to move forward, but they’re open to exploring, learning, and making changes that can bring more balance and joy into their lives. I would be honored to work with you on your way to the best version of yourself!

You might be someone who understands everything. You can explain your patterns, you’ve read the books, maybe even tried therapy before. And still… something feels off. You feel stuck, disconnected, or like you’re living more in your head than in your life. That’s usually where I meet people. I’m an existential therapist, which means we slow things down and pay attention to what your experience actually feels like — not just what makes sense. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, self-aware, and used to holding a lot together, but internally feel anxious, overwhelmed, or alone in it.

How can I find a therapist in Logan County?

Search for nearby therapists or counselors by inputting your city, town, or suburb; or zip code; or a provider’s name into the search bar. From there, you can filter providers by the issues they treat, cost, insurance, gender, and other factors to find providers who are well-suited to your needs. To navigate between locations within the same country, enter a new city or zip code into the search bar.

Is everyone in the Psychology Today Therapy Directory a licensed therapist?

The Psychology Today directory lists providers who offer legitimate mental health services to the public, including psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, and counselors.

Many have been licensed by the country or state where they practice; providers whose license or primary credential has been verified by Psychology Today are signified by a “Verified” symbol. Some clinicians or organizations provide services for which their state or country does not offer licenses, such as pastoral counseling. They may be selectively included without the “Verified” seal.

What’s the difference between a psychologist, a therapist, and a counselor?

Therapists, psychologists, and counselors are all licensed mental health professionals. In the US, psychologists have earned a doctoral degree. The terms “therapist” and “counselor” are used somewhat interchangeably, but generally therapists offer longer-term, mental health care, while counselors offer shorter-term care that may focus on one domain, such as marriage, career, or academic challenges.

Clients should consider factors such as insurance coverage and their primary reason(s) for seeking therapy to determine the type of professional best suited to their needs. Someone struggling with mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety, for example, may wish to seek out a clinical psychologist or therapist, while someone navigating career obstacles or marital upheaval may benefit from seeing a counselor who can offer short-term, targeted support.

What type of therapy is right for me?

The type of therapy best suited to a particular individual depends on several factors, including their primary reason for seeking therapy, their preferred timeline (some therapy types last for a set number of sessions, while others are open-ended), and their personality and preferences—some may prefer a more structured approach. For many individuals, multiple types of therapy could provide a good fit.

How much does therapy cost?

The cost of therapy depends on a number of variables, including location and the therapist’s experience and training. On average, a therapy session in the United States could cost between $100 and $200 or more. If you have insurance, the expense of mental health care is typically lower, but it varies based on your insurance plan details and whether you choose an in-network or out-of-network mental healthcare provider.

What are more affordable or low cost therapy solutions?

Many therapists offer sliding scale payments, usually on a limited number of slots, which consists in an agreement between the therapist and a client to pay a reduced rate. Therapists who provide such arrangements often consider the client's income or ability to pay, but the extent of the discount is ultimately at the therapist's discretion. Furthermore, while group therapy may have different goals and benefits compared to individual therapy, it can be a more affordable solution to address certain types of issues.

Is online therapy cheaper than in-person therapy?

Many therapists charge the same amount for online therapy as they do for in-person therapy—though clients may still find this cost-effective if it cuts down on their transportation costs. Health insurance plans often offer equivalent coverage for online and in-person therapy; indeed, in many places, they are legally required to do so. Text-based or on-demand therapy apps may be cheaper than traditional one-on-one psychotherapy; however, the practice may be less effective and is not likely to be covered by insurance.

Is online therapy a good option?

Therapy conducted online can be just as effective as in-person therapy, as long as there is a strong alliance between the client and the therapist. To find a therapist who provides telehealth services to clients in your area, click “Online Therapy” on the directory homepage and search by your city or town or your zip code.

Are therapy sessions confidential?

Confidentiality is a crucial part of the therapeutic relationship. Therapists in the United States are bound by the regulations set out by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA), which aims to protect sensitive health information. With very few exceptions, a therapist will only discuss their client with others when the client has given their written permission. The instances in which a therapist would be required to disclose personal information are: if a client poses a danger to themselves or others, if the therapist suspects the abuse of a child or an elderly or otherwise dependent adult, or if they are legally forced to by court order. These exceptions to the confidentiality agreement are usually discussed with a client before their first session.
