I believe the most successful clients are open-minded and curious, patient with the therapeutic process, and motivated to put in the work necessary to create the change they want to see in themselves and their lives. In my holistic practice I help clients gain tools and skills they need to manage their symptoms, while also tending to the deeper mechanisms at play that are at the root of these symptoms.

It’s 2:00 a.m. and you’re caught in a "doom scroll" because your brain won't hit the off switch. When anxiety makes even simple tasks feel daunting, just "talking it out" often isn't enough. I am deeply passionate about supporting BIPOC women in navigating the unique, heavy burdens of carrying it all. We’ll use simple creative methods to get those "strong friend" pressures out of your head and into the open—no art skills needed. Combined with practical mindfulness, this gives you a real-world toolkit to stop just surviving and actually start thriving.

As Louisa May Alcott once said, "it takes two flints to make a fire". In my clinical practice, I meet my clients where they are and use a collaborative approach to institute change. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and couples who primarily deal with issues from relationships with others, trauma histories, ADHD, anxiety, depression, life transitions, boundary issues, self-esteem, and defiance. My background in forensic psychology includes specific training with trauma and stress, victims, military members, and first responders. In working with children, I collaborate with their families, schools, and social systems.

From the outside, many people look like they have everything together. They go to work, take care of their families, support others, and keep pushing forward even when life feels overwhelming. They are often the dependable one the person everyone turns to for help. But inside, things may feel very different. You may be feeling emotionally drained, stressed, unseen, or unsure about how to move forward. Maybe you are a teen or young adult trying to manage school stress, friendships, or life changes. Perhaps you are an adult balancing work, family, and responsibilities, feeling like there is never enough time to take care of yourself

Your voice is stronger and louder than you believe, and I believe that every being has an untold story waiting to be heard, understood, and held with honor. We are often given the systemic message that our voices do not matter, that our stories will be outlived, or that our mental health (a.k.a. our feels) are not as important as our physical health. That is not your truth, or mine. I can help you find your voice (or whatever medium works for you) so that you may continue to grow stronger, louder, and be more unapologetically YOU. Email me today to book a session.

I have extensive experience in treating complex PTSD, including sexual abuse, relationship abuse, and childhood or developmental trauma. Learning how to gain some control over physical symptoms is often the most important but overlooked first step in recovery and healing. Feeling comfortable in your body is too often the primary obstacle standing in the way of regaining your sense of self. I have helped many people with achieving the physical regulation necessary for symptom control, all the way through to recovering from the emotional and psychological injuries resulting from traumatic experiences.

I also have a strong interest in childhood sleep disturbances and enjoy working with parents of infants, toddlers and preschoolers to address sleep problems.
As a parent and as a therapist for young children, I wholeheartedly understand the various difficulties of raising children, as well as the great joys of parenthood. I view therapy with young children as a means to discover underlying issues that could be impacting a child's current emotional or behavioral presentation and working with the parents and child as a team in addressing those issues. I have a warm, inviting and causal style of interacting with families that helps them feel less anxiety about participating in the therapeutic process.

I work with thoughtful, capable people who are often carrying more than they let on. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, burnout, grief, trauma, or major life transitions. My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in nervous system awareness. I pay close attention to both your words and what’s happening beneath them, helping you slow down, build safety, and understand patterns that may no longer serve you. Therapy with me is collaborative and steady, designed to support insight, regulation, and meaningful change. I bring a calm, grounded presence shaped by years of working with people under real strain.

If you are a high-achiever, frustrated that logic hasn't solved your symptoms, it’s because OCD, anxiety, chronic pain, and insomnia are not logic problems.
I provide the clinical intensity required for complex cases. I utilize ERP for OCD, ACT and exposure for anxiety, CBT- Insomnia for insomnia, and Pain Reprocessing Therapy for chronic pain and other chronic conditions. My style is technical, warm, and direct. We focus on the mechanics of behavioral change to reduce symptoms rather than just managing them.

Sleep or Insomnia Therapists
How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
