I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and have been in private practice since 2002. I have had my own practice for over 15 years and recently joined Lakeshore Psychology Group in Northbrook. I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families around a myriad of clinical issues and emotional difficulties. I believe in building a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship. I recognize that success comes with knowing someone believes that change can happen and I want to guide you through that process. My style is direct, engaging, supportive, and solution focused.

When we deny our feelings, pushing them away (depressing them), we get depressed. When we shame our needs and criticize ourselves for being weak/needy, we strengthen the fear that causes us to hide who we really are. This increases anxiety. When we deny traumatic memories, we develop Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Numbing reality and denying real injustices will protect us from pain in the short run. Denying what is real, however, flings us into an inner conflict in which we resist the things that we need the most, and cling to the things that make us most dysfunctional.

I am a Marriage and Family Therapist with over 13 years of clinical experience in community and private practice settings, having worked with adolescents and adults in individual, couples, and family modalities. I have extensive experience in treating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorders, school/academic problems, infidelity, stages of life, stress management and relationship/marital difficulties.
