Drawing from a person-centered approach, I strive to create a therapeutic environment characterized by empathy, acceptance, and authentic connection. I understand that working with adolescents requires patience, compassion, and a willingness to meet individuals where they are on their journey. My focus extends beyond the individual to encompass the entire family unit. I believe that healing is a collaborative process that involves addressing systemic issues and fostering healthy relational dynamics. By working with the whole system, I aim to create lasting change and promote resilience within the family.

I believe that in order to effectively navigate relationships, whether at home, in the workplace, or within the community, it is essential to understand and address the dynamics of the larger systems at play. By taking a holistic and systemic approach to therapy, I work collaboratively with clients to empower them to put their 'oxygen mask' on first and foster healthier relationships within the context of their unique systems.

I enjoy working with a variety of life stages( adolescent, adult, senior), with challenges that range from easily addressed life dilemmas to those who need longer term therapy for such issues as early abuse/neglect and PTSD. I believe that safety, trust, and time are necessary to help people to make significant movement toward wholeness, integration of self, and a more fulfilling life. Brain Body Research has proven that the body is adversely affected by Chronic/Severe Stress and Limiting Beliefs about self and one's life situation.

Let's face it, life gets bumpy sometimes. I understand that we may struggle during these "bumpy" times. When helping client's experiencing various mental, emotional and/or life stressors, I take a compassionate approach, yet I am also open and forthright with clients to provide a safe, non-judgemental space to facilitate the helping process. Therapy is a give-and-take relationship between client and therapist and I will use an array of methods including Talk Therapy, Motivational Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, as well as, Mindfulness-Based and Relaxation techniques to support clients in reaching their full potential.

Have you tried everything to feel “normal” and still feel wounded, damaged, or out of control? If this is you, it’s time to step out of the solitary confinement of your mind and allow a healer to guide you. After all, being with a therapist is a relationship that can go beyond any other. For your therapist may know every secret and dark thought you've had, and hold trust that you've never gifted to anyone. When you ask for help, you’re expecting skills, processing, for "it" not to hurt so bad. Being gifted to heal people from their trauma creates a sense of owing the world my best effort at the work I love.

Feeling like your relationship is on the rocks? Maybe you’re stuck in the same old arguments, feeling miles apart even when you’re right next to each other, or trying to pick up the pieces after a trust-shattering betrayal. The frustration, confusion, and heartache can feel overwhelming, leaving you wondering if things will ever get better. I get it—relationships can be messy, complicated, and sometimes exhausting when things aren’t going smoothly. It’s easy to feel lost or isolated in these moments. But here’s the thing: you don’t have to go through this alone.

All of us encounter struggles as we meet the daily challenges in our lives. From time to time our journey seems to change direction, go backwards, or even stop. Often, we don't know what to do or where to start. All we really need is someone to help us understand where we are, and where we want to go. Talking to a therapist can help you rediscover your journey, overcome personal issues, and work towards emotional health and well-being. Allow me to assist you on your journey, as you become the person you want to be.

Navigating life's challenges can be tough for anyone. Significant life changes rarely come one at a time, giving us enough to process, plan and adapt. A loss of a job, divorce, chronic illness of our own or a loved one, and other life stressors can have experiencing shifting roles, responsibilities and routines, which can be uncomfortable and distressing. If you are also experiencing anxiety and/or depression, these are also the times we notice significant worsening of our symptoms. The good news is that you don't have to face these moments in life alone.

Sit back, take your shoes off and get as comfortable as you would like, that is the mantra I have for anyone who comes into my office. I have created a calming, welcoming space for people to feel they can share what they need to share, cry, laugh or yell. I love the aha moments people have or when they finally start to realize for themselves that they are going to be okay, might not be great but even okay is better than nothing. I love working with perinatal and postpartum clients especially those first time new mamas who are getting use to their new role. I would love to help you through your journey, good, bad or other.

I understand that the choice of a therapist is an important one. The trust that is built between the client and the therapist is important in determining how helpful therapy can be. I work hard to create a supportive therapeutic environment. I believe in providing a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere and encourage people to talk at a pace that is comfortable for them. I believe that an individual has the ability to learn to do things differently and feel better. I use techniques associated with the widely recognized cognitive behavioral theory as well as those from family system's theory.

My work as a therapist and an art therapist since 2014 has focused on supporting clients through life transitions, grief, identity concerns, coping with symptoms of anxiety and depression, and reducing pain while increasing ability for coping. I have experiences working with individuals in individual and group therapy using talk therapy and also art therapy. My populations have included emerging adults and adults at other points in their lifespan. I very much enjoy supporting clients in navigating considerations around identity and racial/cultural experiences. I am strengths-based and goal focused.

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
