At Health in Tandem, our motto is "where mind and body meet." We passionately believe that we cannot manage mental health without incorporating physical wellness, and that in order to improve physical performance, we must incorporate mental skills training. You are not a one-size-fits-all, so the approach our therapists take with you shouldn't be either. We take a step back and look at your life as a whole - what are all of the components that make you, you? What are the factors in your life that have been out of whack, maybe for awhile? How can we treat the whole of who you are, rather than the symptoms you list off?

I believe that throughout our lives, especially when we are young, we develop skills and tools that help keep us safe and connected. Sometimes those tools help us survive, but over time, they may stop serving us as they once did and begin to do more harm than good. I take a collaborative, strengths-based approach, mainly using cognitive behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy. I strive to create a safe space to support your authentic self while challenging you to step outside your comfort zone. My goal is to help clients develop new and empowering ways of thinking and acting that reflect their identities and values.

Have you ever felt like you were handed a prescription but never really given answers? Patients often come to me after years of feeling like something deeper was being overlooked. If you are curious about your own biology, motivated to understand the root causes behind how you feel, and open to a care model that goes beyond the prescription pad, then you are in the right place.

Often what brings people to therapy is the desire to feel more connected to themselves and have a better idea of how to live a more authentic life. Changing the way we relate to ourselves and others comes from a deep understanding of our inner world. Finding the right therapist is essential in figuring out what would make you feel confident about the direction your life is headed. Together we will explore what changes what you can do to reclaim your true self and live the life you want not one that you think you "should" be living.

We all have a unique, beautiful self that can feel lost due to trauma, chronic stress, and systemic or societal pressures. In the process of surviving, we often learn to move away from parts of who we truly are in order to stay safe. Therapy with me as a space to gently reconnect with that self, and explore who you are beneath expectations, pain, and adaptation. Starting the therapeutic process together will look like establishing safety, learning to understand your needs, and creating a space that allows you to show up just as you are. Everything is welcome and we will learn how to care for it together.

I've really narrowed down my craft in therapy to focus on anxiety, OCD through ERP, insomnia/ sleep issues, ADHD, grief, and other interpersonal issues.
With teens and adolescents I focus on building the relationship first and foremost since it's the most important part of therapy no matter what age. From there we really explore and process their current needs and focus on values to attach therapeutic goals to. As I work with adults the same process happens in tandem with mindful self compassion training.

I work with thoughtful, capable people who are often carrying more than they let on. Many of my clients are navigating anxiety, burnout, grief, trauma, or major life transitions. My approach is relational, trauma-informed, and grounded in nervous system awareness. I pay close attention to both your words and what’s happening beneath them, helping you slow down, build safety, and understand patterns that may no longer serve you. Therapy with me is collaborative and steady, designed to support insight, regulation, and meaningful change. I bring a calm, grounded presence shaped by years of working with people under real strain.

Sleep or Insomnia Therapists
How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
