My name is Kyle Garifo and I have been a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor since 2001. I enjoy the process of therapy and helping individuals and couples navigate through rough waters to a brighter future. Sometimes the path that needs to be taken is different than the obvious one in front of us and I help shine the light on that different path. No one person knows what it is like to be in our clients' shoes therefore we must work together to gain a greater understanding of the challenges that exist and the answers within.

Our experienced team of therapists has been helping clients achieve their best self, better relationships, and a more balanced life since 2012. The more common struggles we help clients overcome are anxiety and depression, trauma and PTSD, relationship problems, and parenting challenges. If you have been wrestling with these or other issues, we are here to help. We work with older kids (8+), adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Most of our therapists are EMDR trained (EMDRIA approved) and also use other effective approaches including CBT, DBT, and systemic approaches.

I specialize in working with individuals struggling with symptoms stemming from anxiety, trauma, life transitions and self esteem difficulties. No one should feel that they need to “push through” irritability, fatigue, distraction, sadness, anxiousness, shame or difficulty with staying present in their day to day life. Therapy will support you with the insight needed to not only heal, but to also thrive outside of therapy in the longterm. I believe when given the opportunity, we have the power to heal, thrive, and therapy can provide the support to do so.

Many life situations can be overwhelming and it is easy to let that become an obstacle stopping you from reaching new heights in life. To help with this, I utilize mostly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy & Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, as well as incorporating a great deal of mindfulness into treatment plans. I enjoy exploring exercises, such as skill-building techniques or meditation, to provide clients with daily practices for outside of the therapy room to continue their process of growth & development.

Melissa Downey is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Illinois who has been practicing since 2022. She has an M.S. Ed in Counseling. Melissa believes in taking a holistic, person-centered approach, focused on each person's strengths as a way to personalize their experience. She strives to work together with clients on achieving those goals through realistic goalsetting, drawing from strengths each person already has within them, combined with new skills learned in session together. Melissa truly believes that everyone has within them the ability, potential, and drive to achieve their goals.
