If you have a boy(s) under the age of 21 and have difficulty understanding his behavior with discipline, poor academic performance and anger issues, this is the place for support and useful information. Groups are up to 10 meeting once a week. If you want answers and help, and can handle a direct approach to counseling and are willing to change how you interact with your son this is the place to be.

I see psychotherapy as a collaborative process. From this perspective, I have developed an individualized approach in which the relationship provides a safe place where feelings and behavior can be explored. Often, current struggles have developed over time so that connections can be made to past experiences. With this understanding a person can begin to make changes which lead to greater satisfaction and happiness. I bring a solid eclectic knowledge base to the process, drawing on individual dynamics, relationship dynamics, and an understanding of human development throughout the life cycle. I have master’s degree in Community Counseling and I am a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) in IL and WA state. I work with clients of all ages, but I have a focus in working with teens and young adults. I have a strong passion in working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, or those questioning their identity. I use a client-centered approach; I want you to get the most out of therapy by using techniques that are best suited for you as an individual. I have experience working with various diagnoses including clients starting out their gender transition journey, reunification, anger management, couples counseling, family counseling, and victims of domestic violence.

I believe that, given adequate time, space, and resources, all individuals are capable of self-directed change regardless of their presenting problem. I also believe that therapy can often be the missing factor for those who seek but are unable to successfully make positive life changes on our own. As a counselor, I facilitate change by working with and through the client.
