Healing isn’t about fixing what’s broken—it’s about reconnecting with the parts of you that have always been whole. As a therapist trained in IFS, EMDR, and Trauma-Focused CBT, I help clients understand how trauma, stress, and early experiences shape who they are today. My approach blends clinical expertise and lived experience, allowing me to see clients with both professional understanding and deep empathy. I believe healing happens through relationship—when you feel seen, safe, and understood. Together, we’ll work to quiet inner conflict, build emotional balance, and rediscover your sense of strength and self-worth.

You may be in a space where you’ve tried to do everything on your own, holding it together for everyone else, pouring out your energy into family, work, and relationships, while quietly carrying the weight of your own struggles with no place to lay them down. Maybe you’ve been searching for peace, direction, and clarity, and you’ve come to realize that what’s missing is not just healing for your mind, but restoration for your soul. You're ready to invite God into your healing, and to finally allow yourself to rest in His presence while also doing the work to grow.

The things that we experience and go through in life can create different lens in which we see ourselves. Like a pair of glasses, each one is different and can have a different impact on the story we tell about who we are. Sometimes with the things we experience can create a lens of low sense of self, anxiety, depression, or even trauma responses. It's important to have someone you trust who can aid in walking you through those different experiences to be able to dismantle the thoughts and the emotions, from the experiences to lead you to living a happier and more fulfilling life.

The journey called life can be very painful. It has been one of the greatest rewards of my life to see people who have been negatively impacted by relationship issues, depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns turn their situation around . The power to change our life course, habits, and perceptions sometimes appears to be a never ending struggle. I indeed applaud you for reaching out because it reaffirms that people are not giving up and giving in to their situations.

It is not sadness exactly. It is more like flatness. You wake up and the day is already heavy before it starts. You go through the motions, the work, the obligations, the conversations where you say you are fine, and somewhere in all of it you are bracing. Bracing against the nothing, against the weight of existing in a body that has stopped feeling like yours. You have been pretending for so long that you are not sure anyone would recognize the real version of you anymore. You are not dramatic. You are not weak. Something genuine is wrong, and the exhaustion of carrying it quietly, day after day, is its own kind of pain.

You feel lost. Entirely alone in your struggles, like no one can understand what you’re going through. You desperately wish you had a better handle on things and feel like a failure for your shortcomings. But this problem isn’t unique. The experience is so common that there are memes about it. Everyone struggles; it’s perfectly normal. Of course, knowing that doesn’t make those thoughts and feelings go away. But that’s where we come in.

On the outside, things look handled. Responsibilities get met. People rely on you. You show up how you are supposed to. Inside, it feels different. Overwhelmed. Disconnected. Stuck in patterns that keep repeating no matter how much effort goes into pushing through. A lot gets carried without being said. Everything stays together, but something deeper keeps asking for attention. You pray. You scroll. You push through. You tell yourself this is just how life feels sometimes. Then it hits again in a quiet moment. That part of you never left. Still there. Still waiting. Still asking, when do I get to be real again?

I specialize in working with college-aged adults and professionals who are navigating major life transitions. Beginning therapy can feel like a big step, and my goal is to walk alongside you as you manage challenges such as career burnout, adjusting from college to full-time work, or balancing the demands of job and family life. It takes courage to recognize when life feels overwhelming and to seek support. My approach is strengths-based, grounded in the belief that you already possess the inner resources to set meaningful goals and create lasting change. When you’re ready to take the next step, I’d be glad to connect.

My ideal client is anyone who feels brave and willing enough to take the journey into self-discovery. Regardless of their issues clients need to know and experience positive regard, attentive listening and judgement free interactions. Clients need to feel that their concerns or needs can be met by a clinical professional. The goals of any client would come from collaboration and would hopefully be deemed realistic, worthwhile and attainable.

If your goal is to prioritize your mental health, then you've come to the right page! My goal is to help Black women step out of the Superwoman role, redefine what the "strong Black woman" means, and be intentional about prioritizing your mental, physical, and emotional health! As your therapist, I want to help you learn how to be more "selfish" with yourself and that means taking care of you first, so that you can show up as your best self in all areas of your life! I am currently accepting clients for in person and virtual sessions.

Men's Issues Therapists
Is therapy for men different than it is for women?
Therapeutic treatments and types are the same for men as they are for women, with the same protocols followed and the same strategies employed. Discussing one’s feelings and emotions is an integral part of most therapies, and some men find doing so more challenging. Therapists can help clients through the process; some specialize in treating men for this reason.

How do you encourage a man to go to therapy?
It’s helpful to express your concern and love for the person while framing therapy as a tool for improving their life. Offering specific examples of how an individual’s behavior affected either himself or others should be done with compassion and with empathy. It may be useful to devise a game plan—breaking the process down into parts, such as finding a therapist, making appointments, and looking into insurance coverage.

How can men prepare for therapy?
Men can prepare for therapy by approaching the process with an open mind, being willing to talk about their challenges, and giving treatment the time to work. Before a session, an individual may want to reflect on how they’ve felt since the last session and what’s happened in their lives. It can be useful for men who struggle to recall their emotional states to write down notes between sessions about their response to a given event or how they were feeling at a particular time.

What should men know about the process of therapy?
One of the most common reasons men don’t seek therapy is the notion that there’s something wrong with them if they do. Men should know that just because they’re seeking therapy doesn’t mean they’re mentally ill or damaged in some way. In the same way people work on their bodies through exercise or a craft through practice, therapy can be a way to improve the mental and emotional skills needed to be productive and effective partners, employees, and people in all realms of life.
