In the unknown world we are living in today, emotions are high as well as anxieties. I strive to help individuals through this and work towards managing their emotions. Client goals and needs are subjective and we will work together to identify them in our sessions. I would like my clients to be motivated to a lifestyle change that works for them and I want to help them do this. My hope is to help clients initiate change and growth so they can carry those tools into their future obstacles.

Individuals typically seek therapy when certain facets of their lives become unmanageable. Whether you are feeling powerless, overwhelmed, or having much difficulty navigating through day to day life, therapy is a space for self-exploration. I provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space to process issues that you may be having difficulty coping with. Together we can identify those issues and explore solutions. Together we can get you back on track and help you gain clarity and direction.

My belief is to listen without making judgments, without giving advice, and to help my clients understand their feelings. I also believe the client is entirely capable of fulfilling their own potential for growth and change. Furthermore, I believe it is important for the client to experience self-actualization and experience the changes in the “here and now.” Change happens when a client has found a resolution after having an internal conflict with themselves in regard to meeting the needs and desires of the heart and mind. Personal growth is evidence of change and can be spontaneous without effort.

Challenging life experiences can create difficult thoughts, feelings, and sensations in our bodies such as nervousness, sadness, hopelessness, stress, restlessness, and self-doubt. Some of our memories and emotions may feel too heavy and burdensome to examine and manage alone. Sharing and having your story heard, understood, and empathized with in therapy can provide relief while creating space to understand yourself better. Through exploration and processing, I will support and guide you in becoming more aware of how your external interactions have impacted your emotional experience and well-being.

“I don’t know who I am anymore.” “When am I going to enjoy life again?” “Other parents seem to be able to do it with multiple kids, why can’t I do it with one baby?” These might be phrases you have said to yourself. Believe it or not, these are very common and can make us feel alone. But the reality is, a lot of people have had them. Life throws us hurdles and although they may seem difficult, with the right tools and support they can be overcome. Society wants us to believe that becoming a parent is a storybook time in our lives. The fact is, parenthood can also be the most difficult, isolating, and confusing time.

Through my decades of experience I have seen that we all struggle with feelings of not being "Good Enough" in some way. Whether that is smart enough, lovable enough, or many other not enoughs. We form these beliefs during our lives and many things trigger that NOT GOOD ENOUGH feeling. We may react emotionally when the "not good enough" feeling is triggered. EMDR & Mindfulness are great tools to help calm down our emotions so we have better control of them. My client's say I have an easy going and personable style. I have such high regard for my client's bravery and strength to seek help!

Often, life presents us with challenges. Sometimes those challenges can make us feel anxious and depressed and may lead to problems in our lives and in our relationships with our loved ones, friends, and co-workers. At other times, we struggle with the transitions that normally occur in life, an "empty nest", becoming a young adult, or maintaining intimate relationships.
Counseling can provide you with a safe place to share your feelings, explore options for change and work toward managing life's challenges.

The world we are currently living in can be incredibly overwhelming and full of constant transitions. I strive to provide clients with a safe and supportive space to grow and heal, especially during this chaotic time. I am passionate about working with clients experiencing a life transition, such as coping with the diagnosis of a chronic medical condition or food allergies. I understand how the stress of these experiences can impact every area of a person’s world and I assist clients in bringing balance back into their lives by incorporating aspects of both physical and mental health.

Now accepting new clients... Have you been to therapy before and it didn't get you anywhere? I take a completely different approach to therapy than your average therapist. I work by providing new ideas & resources to work on improving the wide variety of struggles you might come to the session with. I will provide direct and honest feedback to what I hear is going on with you. My clients find that I’m successful at helping them gain a deeper awareness of what’s causing discomfort while increasing coping, self-esteem and gratitude. I approach and understand well-being from a holistic perspective.

Female Therapists
Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
In general, this is not an important factor, as there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or ingrained beliefs about how people of different genders think and behave. Exploring the roots of such preferences and considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender truly matters to them.
Should I see a female therapist?
Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist, either because they believe that a woman will be able to relate to their specific challenges (for example, sexism in the workplace) or because they imagine feeling more comfortable disclosing sensitive information to a woman. Such beliefs may not turn out to be accurate, however, and adhering too rigidly to a gender preference can at times hinder a client from finding the best therapeutic match.
Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?
Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists—both men and women—may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.
How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?
It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
