I help people going through relationship break-ups, especially from destructive narcissistic partners.
Therapy is a process of self discovery that enables you to recognize unhealthy patterns of behavior and learn effective coping strategies for optimal health and well-being. I provide a safe environment for psychotherapy through a warm, open communication style. I believe psychotherapy is a collaborative undertaking between patient and therapist; that listening, understanding and respecting each patient's unique story is necessary for optimal treatment.

I work with individuals facings a diversity of issues including sexual addiction, anxiety disorders , mood disorders, anger management, and relationship enhancement.
You are uniquely made and your life has meaning ...we can at times lose sight of this however. Each of us has a history and life experiences which shape our thoughts, beliefs, feelings and behaviors. We can come to a point in our journey where life gets heavy, where circumstances press down on us, and the person we were created to be gets eclipsed by life’s challenges. Increasing awareness about the way in which our unique life experiences have shaped our thinking, emotions, and behaviors as well as developing new skills to manage life’s challenges are important pieces in rediscovering our meaning and moving forward.

By building the therapeutic relationship we will work to overcome doubt, change unhealthy patterns, improve relationships and find healthy ways to cope.
Are you stuck, unable to make the lasting changes you’re longing for? Maybe you are struggling to figure out what you should do and how to do it? Perhaps relationships are strained and you feel you go around and around. You may know where you want to be but can't figure out how to get there, and maybe even feel like giving up. Often, the first step is simply being heard, feeling understood and accepted unconditionally. The fact that you are reading this shows you have hope, hope that you can find inner peace and clarity, and then be able to take those steps that feel safe to you.

Often, life leads you to a point where you feel stuck. The same strategies that might have worked before are no longer effective. Maybe this is because of life transitions, relationship challenges or just a sense that you want something more. If you feel overwhelmed by work, school, family or relationships, consider how processing those feelings and developing new insights and skills might give you the self-awareness to live a peaceful and more purpose driven life.

No one had a perfect childhood, including you! The needs that weren't filled for us as kids continue to leave voids in us. Maybe your anxiety, depression, unhealthy coping, relationship struggles and inner chaos are a sign of untreated emotional wounds. Unless we actively attempt to make sense of our reactions and behaviors, they will continue to control us. Our bodies and minds remember the pain from the past and react to that pain whenever something reminds us of it. Increasing our awareness of these connections can be eye-opening and can allow us to shift how we perceive ourselves and our relationships.

When people are willing to gain fresh insight into their beliefs and experiences; I help by listening, asking questions that support desired change, and maintaining a safe, supportive and interactive relationship .
Everyone faces situations we don't want - death, divorce, illness, financial problems, conflicts or personal challenges. Viewing those challenges as 'life experiences' often provide valuable opportunities to learn, grow and develop. That evolutionary process is the foundation of my practice, and also serves me well in my own personal growth. Through my work, I help people create individual transformation from the inside-out. For most people, coaching or counseling is helpful, and sometimes essential in order to fully understand how we may be contributing to our own problems, or even undermining what we say we desire in our lives.

I view the therapeutic relationship between myself and others as an ever-evolving journey in which I allow them to guide.
Are you in a place where you have done all you can, but are still unable to make the necessary positive changes you would like? Often times you may feel as if you have done everything possible, but change is still out of reach. I am a firm believer in the thought that all the skills necessary for change already lie within you, but could use the help of another to bring forth that change. By working together I believe that I can help you to acknowledge your dominate positive attributes in order to facilitate that much needed change.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
