Welcome! My name is Sara and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been in the field for more than a decade; licensed since 2020. I specialize in teens and young adults, but love working with adults of all ages. I work primarily with people who are struggling through adjustment to different phases of life and/or are experiencing anxiety and depression. I believe in person centered care where you are the expert in your own life, but firmly believe everyone could use a good support team. I feel fortunate to be part of that team.

When was the last time you felt like you were putting everybody else before you? Are you exhausted from always having to be the dependable one, even when you feel as though you can’t possibly carry on? If you’re feeling any of that, you’re not alone—and you don’t have to carry that burden alone. With over 15 years of working in the areas of personal growth, I have stood by people during some of their hardest, most painful times. I believe that, deep down on a very basic level, each of us wants to feel deeply accepted and belong. You’re not broken, and you don’t need a fix. Many obstacles we face—especially those dealing with

As a therapist, I strive to meet my clients where they're at and increase their self-awareness, which in turn helps them understand their thoughts and feelings in relation to the problems at hand. I realize that my clients are the experts in their own life experiences, therefore, utilize an individualistic approach in working alongside them in efforts to restore emotional balance.

I believe people’s lives can change when they feel truly seen, heard, and cared for. In those moments, we begin to discover our strengths and remember that we are worthy of prioritizing our mental health. My passion is working with those who have been made to feel powerless—survivors of abuse, individuals living with PTSD, and those navigating grief and loss. I also support clients dealing with anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and chronic conditions.

I believe in meeting people exactly where they are, not where they think they should be. You don’t need to act, feel, or show up a to session a certain way. My approach is all about creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can slow down, and breathe. Let's start exploring what’s going on inside to identify goals for improved life satisfaction. We’ll take time to look at your strengths, values, emotions, and life experiences to help you understand how they’ve shaped you, discovering the patterns that might be causing challenges in your life or keeping you stuck.

Let's be real, life is tough sometimes. You keep your head down and try to get through the day, only to be up at night fighting worries that won’t let go. You are stressed out, overwhelmed, and have little energy. Everything you do to try and be in control of your anxiety isn’t working, the intrusive and unwanted thoughts just keep coming. You can’t remember the last time you felt good. It’s difficult to know where to start, or how to sort it out on your own. Even though you’re feeling stuck, you sense the possibility that things could be different. Reconnecting to what makes life meaningful is not as far away as it might seem.

Life can change fast—and sometimes those changes leave you feeling unsteady, anxious, or stuck. Whether you’re navigating a major transition, military life, trauma recovery, or simply trying to find your footing again, you don’t have to face it alone. As both a military spouse and veteran, I understand the challenges of constant change, deployments, and the “hurry up and wait” pace that life can demand. My approach is grounded, collaborative, and compassionate. I create space for clients to slow down, process what’s happening, and learn practical ways to cope and heal.

I have always had a passion working with kids. I struggled myself with self esteem and anxiety at a young age. This is something that I can relate to which helps to grow rapport faster. Providing a safe place for children to boost self confidence, talk, and develop lifelong skills is something that I love doing. Watching them grow and learn is something I thoroughly love witnessing. Not only do I work with kids but I work with young adults as well this can be for anxiety, depression, low self esteem, low motivation and many other reasons!

Female Therapists

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?

In general, there is no relationship between a therapist’s gender and their efficacy. Some clients, however, prefer to see therapists of a particular gender, whether due to their own past experiences with men and women, or because they feel more comfortable with a therapist of their own gender due to shared life experiences or perspectives. Considering what one wants to address in therapy can help someone determine whether their therapist’s gender may matter or improve their therapeutic experience. The most important consideration is that a client is able to build a trusting relationship with their therapist.

Should I see a female therapist?

Many people—not just women—prefer to see a female therapist. For women, this could be because they believe that they will be able to better connect with a woman, and that a female therapist will be able to relate to their specific challenges and personal issues. It may be particularly beneficial for women to see a female therapist, for example, for gender-specific issues, such as sexism in the workplace, relationship issues, and gender roles. The most important factor in therapy is the client-therapist connection, and a therapist's gender as well as many other factors may play an important role in this.

Do therapists get specific training to help with women’s concerns?

Therapists are trained to provide care to clients of any gender. However, some therapists may pursue additional training in feminist therapy, gender-specific issues, or women’s mental health. Female clients may wish to ask prospective therapists whether they have received specific training in the client’s primary area(s) of concern, or whether they have worked extensively with women on issues similar to their own.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience in treating women?

It’s OK—even encouraged!—to ask a therapist directly whether and how often they have treated women in the past, or whether they have treated women dealing with the client’s most prominent concern(s). Competent therapists will be happy to share their educational background, preferred treatment modalities, and prior client experience to help an individual find the therapist best suited to their needs.
