I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and use a strengths-based approach to therapy. I believe that the healing power of an empathic relationship provides a safe space for an individual to safely explore their values and the ways in which they make meaning out of their experiences and interact with the world. It is within this exploration that individuals can begin to dislodge from stuck patterns and make choices that are in line with their values so they can live out their life in an intentional way.

Hi there, my name is Felicity Dineen. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and I am so excited at the possibility of getting to work along side you. I have extensive experience working with adults and teens struggling with a wide array of life stressors including relationship struggles, anxiety/depression, acceptance of self, grief, trauma, parenting concerns, and perinatal issues. Together, you will overcome challenges both present and in the past to help bring out the strengths within yourself that are already in existence.

Currently I specialize in Trauma in adults and adolescents as a Certified Trauma Treatment Professional. For 20 years I specialized in divorce issues, both in families with high amounts of conflict and custody disagreements and provide support during this difficult transition. In addition, I have a strong background in Attachment, and I specialize in Attachment issues in children and adults and address the various challenges clients face in their current relationships. I use EMDR when appropriate as well as myriad Neuropsychological interventions to allow clients to process and free themselves from the cycle of Trauma memories.

I work primarily with youth and families, adults and both established and premarital couples. I am certified to administer the PREPARE-ENRICH premarital counseling program, and have experience working with issues associated with abuse/trauma, anger, anxiety, depression, grief, family and parenting challenges, marital issues (communication, conflict resolution, intimacy issues, etc.), self Image/identity, life transitions, spirituality, and men's issues. I also have experience working with the unique challenges that often accompany engagement in full-time ministry and/or spiritual leadership in various capacities.

With over 15 years experience as a licensed psychologist, I think of the therapeutic relationship as a method for understanding the self. To that end, behavior patterns can be explored, internal experience can shift with the movement towards change. Perhaps you are caught in the same cycle and feeling frustrated. You may be adjusting to a life or career transition. Stuff from the past is triggering and you might not understand why you feel the way you do. We can explore and understand the meanings in a safe and creative way.

I have been in private practice for twenty-six years and work with individuals, couples, and families. In person and telehealth appointments are available. I work with children, adolescents and adults at every stage of their lives. I have a diverse practice and have greatly appreciated the diversity of my clients' life experience. Unresolved traumatic experiences very often render a person with feelings of anxiety and depression; particularly for those who were never given the appropriate tools and support to process their trauma. These emotional states can lead to poor coping skills in our efforts to meet life’s challenges, and very often anxiety and depression can lead us to feeling incapable of helping ourselves or ever changing our circumstances and clearly seeing our potential.

I believe everyone needs and deserves a safe space to address barriers preventing them from navigating through life the way they desire, thus I seek to foster safe and comfortable environments for those oppressed and marginalized. Living in unprecedented times, it is especially important to have support, awareness, and knowledge of effective coping skills to manage life's stressors. I believe it’s also important to process the lives we’ve already experienced and explore how this cultivates our current worldview.
