I have relocated my office to Freeburg, Illinois as of March 1. My hours are 10:45 AM to 6:15 PM Tuesday through Thursday and 10:30 AM to 3:45 PM on Fridays, but contact me anytime. I also offer virtual sessions on Tuesdays now. I know it can be overwhelming to pick the right person and make the first phone call or email, and I want to make it easy for you. I work primarily with teens and adults. I connect well with teenagers that may be hesitant to attend therapy. I also have a lot of success working with men and women dealing with relationship issues.

Life can sometimes take away bits and pieces of us, and make us forget who we are. We can sometimes feel lost and alone, and lose our drive to be our best selves. Have you found yourself in that position? Feeling as if you don’t know who you are, where you belong, and have no one to listen? I create a safe, confidential, non-judgmental space to allow you to find yourself again, whether it be in your family, your work, or your marriage.

I work with individuals, especially women, struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma/CPTSD, eating disorders, and low self-worth. Many feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, often appearing "fine" on the outside while battling overthinking, emotional exhaustion, or self-doubt internally. I take a deep, whole-person approach, helping clients understand patterns, heal past wounds, and create change so they can feel more grounded, confident, and in control.

I have immediate availability for online therapy sessions and in person sessions available.
Let's be real, life is tough sometimes. It can be hard enough just to get through the day, only to be up all night fighting worries that won’t let go. Feeling stressed out, overwhelmed, and having barely enough energy to get through the next day. Trying to control anxiety isn’t working, the intrusive and unwanted thoughts just keep coming on stronger. It’s getting harder to remember the last time you felt good and even more difficult to know how or where to start to sort it out. Even though you’re feeling stuck, you know things could be better. Reconnecting to yourself and to what makes life meaningful is not as far away as it might

In-person therapy provided - telehealth options on a case-by-case basis, when appropriate.
Children and adolescents experience a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, difficulty regulating emotions, and challenges with impulse control. These issues make it difficult to deal with unfortunate but common factors, like family or sibling conflict, parental divorce, or unexpected loss. Many children respond to these issues and factors with less-than-desirable behaviors, such as electronic/video game addiction, educational challenges, difficulty making friends, substance abuse issues, or destructive and defiant behaviors.

FAQ - About In Person Therapy
What are the benefits of in-person therapy?
In-person therapy offers several benefits that some people find highly valuable for their mental health treatment. Being present in the same room as your therapist can create a stronger sense of connection and allow for more nuanced communication through body language. Some people may also find it easier to focus in therapy when they are in a dedicated space and away from potential distractions related to home or work; attending an in-person session provides a clear boundary between therapy time and the rest of your life. For certain therapeutic approaches, such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), exposure therapy, or somatic therapy, being in person may be particularly important, as these therapies benefit from the therapist being able to observe and respond to a client’s physical cues effectively. Additionally, some individuals simply feel more comfortable discussing sensitive or painful topics when they are face-to-face with their therapist rather than on a screen.

When should I choose in-person therapy over online therapy?
In-person therapy may be a better choice when you need a structured therapeutic environment separate from your daily life, when you find it difficult to focus or feel comfortable in an online setting, or when privacy at home is a concern. It may also be more appropriate if you are dealing with severe mental health symptoms that require close monitoring or if your therapy involves approaches that rely heavily on observing physical cues. On the other hand, if convenience, scheduling flexibility, or access to specialists outside your immediate area are priorities, online therapy may be a better fit. Many therapists offer both options, so you can also discuss with a provider which format might work best for your specific situation.

How do I find an in-person therapist?
You can use Psychology Today's therapist directory to find an in-person therapist in your area. You can search by location, insurance accepted, specialty areas, therapeutic approaches, and other criteria to narrow down providers who meet your needs. Each therapist profile includes information about their credentials, areas of expertise, and whether they offer in-person sessions. Once you have identified potential therapists, you can contact them directly through the directory to schedule an initial consultation and determine whether they are a good fit before committing to ongoing treatment. When reaching out, it can be helpful to confirm their availability for in-person appointments, their office location, and whether they accept your insurance.
