I enjoy working with adults and couples using a holistic approach grounded in evidence-based practices to address a variety of concerns including: anxiety, panic attacks, depression, relationship problems, grief , life transitions, substance abuse, divorce, self-esteem building, addiction, intimacy difficulties, and women’s issues.
I believe in the importance of meeting people where they are in this moment - not asking you to feel, look, or act like someone you are not. My therapeutic approach is centered around providing a caring space where you can safely share your thoughts free from judgement. I invite you to slow down and explore your values, emotions and life experiences to help gain a deeper understanding of yourself and relationships, including recognizing patterns that contribute to stress and anxiety. Together, we can begin the process of increasing self-awareness, practicing self-acceptance, and building practical skills to cope with life’s issues.

Whether you are struggling with a typical life transition such as: marriage, divorce, adoption, or death , or suffering from anxiety, anger, depression, or self-harm/sabotaging behaviors, therapy will be tailored to your individual situation.
I believe that, without exception, every individual carries within, the capacity required for healing to occur. As a therapist, it is my honor and privilege to help clients and their families uncover and understand the meanings and feelings associated with their symptoms. Whether the primary client is a child, adolescent, or adult, I work collaboratively with couples/parents to create a treatment plan that is right for the family as a whole. From this perspective we can then work together to discover more adaptive and creative ways to solve problems, build relationships, and live rich and fulfilling lives.

Being a new parent is "supposed to" feel great, right? But it doesn't always feel that way. In fact, sometimes it feels like the most challenging thing you've ever done and you have no control any more. The anxiety, stress and conflicting emotions that arise with trying to conceive, pregnancy and the post-partum experience can be overwhelming, but it does not have to feel that way.

Grief Therapists

How long does therapy take for grief?

There is no exact timeline for grief counseling. Some people may start to feel better after just a few sessions, while others may take months or longer to feel relief. Some specific approaches, including some types of CBT, may involve a set number of sessions, or therapy may be open-ended until the patient determines they are ready to wrap up. Just as there is no right or wrong way to grieve, there is no right or wrong way to seek therapy for grief.

When should you seek therapy for grief?

Many people mistakenly believe that their grief needs to be debilitating or all-encompassing to warrant therapy. This is not the case. While people who experience severe, prolonged grief—particularly those who are considering self-harm or engaging in unhealthy substance use—are especially likely to benefit from therapy, so too are people whose grief is less intense but still interfering with well-being or daily functioning. In practice, almost anyone struggling to process a loss could benefit from grief counseling.

Can grief be managed without therapy?

Oftentimes, yes. Grief is a near-universal part of being human, and many find that their grief, while profound, does not stop them from participating in day-to-day life and steadily eases over time without outside help. For others, however, the harsh pain of early grief persists for months or years or leaves them unable to function. This group is especially likely to benefit from seeing a therapist, who can guide them through their grief and help them reconnect with the world.

What happens if grief is left untreated?

Because grief does not in itself necessitate therapy, untreated grief will often resolve on its own. However, for some people—particularly those who would qualify for a diagnosis of prolonged grief disorder—untreated grief can be a source of seemingly endless pain or lead them to withdraw from the world. In such cases, treatment can be indispensable, as it can help an individual adapt to the loss and start living again.
