How you show up for yourself is just as important as how you show up for others. This fact often gets lost when we are faced with stress, trauma, illness or loss. “Coming back” to yourself with understanding, compassion and empathy is a critical first step toward personal recovery and restoring relationships that are hurting. In therapy with me you will gain tools to help with coping, communication, and setting boundaries. I help clients understand their own emotional attachment needs and interpersonal style and I believe therapy is most effective when grounded this way.

Hi there! Good for you for looking for a therapist :) I encourage you to do consultations or sessions with multiple therapists. You'll quickly see that we're vastly different. Remember grade school teachers? They could make or break a class, and maybe there were only a few you really connected with. Also true for therapists! So book at least a few consults and sessions. Two major things to look for are emotional safety ("Can I share things without feeling judged?") and resonance ("Do they get me?"). Most importantly, practice trusting your intuition; in this way, the search itself can be therapeutic.

I excel with working with clients who want to better understand how their psychological symptoms are linked to experiences they have had in their past. By building a therapeutic space that honors the impact of these lived experiences on their minds and bodies, I help clients rewrite the narratives of their lives and have more compassion for their many parts of themselves. I also understand the impact ancient wisdom and spiritual practice can have on mental health and work with individuals of all faith traditions to incorporate this into their therapeutic journey as appropriate.

My ideal client is someone who has a foundation of wellness and is looking to bridge the chasm between where they are and where they would like to be. They have self-awareness, motivation, and a support system to aid them in their journey. They are looking to learn and implement sustainable tools, practices, and habits that will embody their authentic truth and enhance their lives as a whole. They are curious and open about alternative and holistic methods of healing. They are willing to lean into fear of walking the unknown path of internal alchemy and evolution, knowing they are the ultimately the one that can heal themselves.
