I deeply enjoy challenging and deconstructing all flavors of shame and stigma. I work with clients to notice, give attention, and slow down when our culture encourages us to ignore, distract, and speed up. By thoughtfully exploring family patterns and our ways of being in relationship, we can come to intriguing conclusions about ourselves and others. I work with people ages 17+, and I see clients individually, as families, as sibling groups, and in all configurations of romantic relationships.

Dr. Rios works with a broad spectrum of clients and has experiences in working with clients with a range of problems including: depression, anxiety, trauma, school problems, and relationship difficulties. Dr. Rios specializes in individual, couples and family therapy with children, adolescents, and adults of diverse backgrounds. She enjoys learning and understanding the unique elements that all of her clients bring with them in therapy. Dr. Rios values her relationships with her clients and sees the therapy relationship as one of mutual respect and trust.

Cameron works with clients towards their identified goals using an integrative and holistic approach. She honors all client's identities using a trauma-informed, multicultural and systemic lens and collaborative approach to address clients needs. Cameron's therapeutic approach is backed by 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, young adults, parents, adults and families in the Chicago area. She helps individual, couples/relationship and family clients with issues of emotions, thoughts, behavior, relational patterns, conflict, self-concept, executive functioning, communication and other presenting concerns.

I help clients identify obstacles and explore solutions, believing that if one wants something to change, one has to be willing to foster change. The client and I will explore barriers, and remove roadblocks that have denied them their joy. I work with my clients to explore their version of a better life in a quest to make it their reality. In essence, we are on this journey together. I have served clients from 5 (yrs.) through 90 (yrs.) in academic, clinical, and nursing home settings. I approach therapy within a client-centered climate, using the tenets of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), through a solution-focused lens.

I believe in everyone's uniqueness, authenticity, resiliency, and strength. I will guide you through the process of self-discovery, self-growth, self-love, and clarity. I assist individuals in setting personal goals and visions and working toward desired results and healthy life. Also, I work with couples who may need some guidance and support while navigating their relationships. My goal is for these couples to leave therapy feeling more connected and secure in their relationships. When working with families, I look at the family as a whole, and address transitions, divorce, trauma, grief, and marital/financial problem.

I believe that healing relationships, with others and with one's self, is the core ingredient for change in therapy. I feel that the optimal therapeutic approach with any person must be tailored to the needs of the particular individual and/or client system. Therapy should be approachable and create an environment of acceptance and self-love. In understanding human behavior, it is not so much about "good" or "bad" behavior, but trying to understand why we do what we do and to make sure our behaviors are constructive for ourselves and the relationships important to us.
