In practice since 1979, I identify the treatment options best suited to help individuals find relief from trauma, anxiety, depression or relationhship difficulties. Stopping the downward depression spiral or refocusing an anxious mind offer new hope. People say that I am warm, easy to talk with and nonjudgmental, helping them feel comfortable and safe. Methods of therapy in which I have expertise include solution focused, cognitive-behavioral, Process-oriented and relational. Solution focused means to find your goal and identify or develop resources to achieve it, using your strengths. My ideal client includes children, teens and adults, individually, or in relationships.

Life is full of transitions. Whether graduating college, leaving home, starting or ending a relationship, childbirth, career change, bereavement, or aging, such transitions can stir up strong emotions, causing stress and even grief. I help individuals from young adulthood through their senior years who are facing depression , anxiety, and other personal challenges to access the strengths they possess and the skills they need to navigate such struggles with renewed confidence, presence of mind, and embodied capabilities.

I believe that through processing memorable events, trauma, shame, isolation, addiction, and depression /anxiety, personal growth can be achieved.
“Not all who wander are lost” is a quote I have loved while walking through my own life’s uncertainty. When you find yourself faced with an unclear path, talking with a therapist offers comfort, clarity, connection, and guidance. Counseling involves exploring yourself in a safe space that includes your perceptions and behaviors, and anything else relevant to the healing process. We can all thrive when provided the appropriate environment, so my primary goal is providing the type of safe space that works best for you.

Whether it be depression , anxiety, or life transitions, I firmly believe in creating an individualized treatment in a safe, non-judgmental, empathetic environment for you to feel most comfortable exploring your motivation for seeking support.
Together, we will identify and emphasize your strengths to empower work toward reaching your personal goals. These goals begin with understanding your unique perspective and then working through these behaviors, emotions, or thoughts that bring distress, disharmony, or pain.

Mid 2022. These are difficult times for all of us, each in our own way. At times we feel anxious, overwhelmed—and alone. We’re upset about our thoughts and how we act. Yet it seems hard to reach out for help. Connecting with a caring and wise therapist, however, can be of great benefit. At this point in your life, I extend my hand of assistance with all the experience and skills I have developed over the years. Seeking help is a smart thing to do. If you don't call me for a session, call someone. You are worth it. Most importantly, you CAN feel better. Cordially, Dr. Randall

I especially enjoy working with teens and adults struggling with anxiety, OCD, depression , body dysmorphia, existential concerns, life transitions, and trauma related stressors.
I believe that life is a beautifully challenging and unpredictable experience. The ebbs and flows of life are what makes us human. When we are caught in the lows of life, we often feel this lack of control, we feel stuck, or we feel this inability to find the ‘right answer.’ I would like to show you that you have the answers within, you have the tools within, and we will work together as a team to regain a sense of direction in your life. Therapy is a vulnerable experience; therefore, I intentionally create an atmosphere that feels safe, allows your stories to be heard, and empowers you to be your authentic self.

I help adults who are struggling with a wide variety of mental health issues including substance abuse, grief and loss, trauma, depression , bipolar disorder, and anxiety. It's normal to begin therapy coming from a place of hopelessness. But with the right tools you can experience the transformation from feeling that life is unmanageable to a sense of stability, peace and thriving.

Depression Therapists
Depressive disorders are characterized by persistent feelings of sadness and worthlessness and a lack of desire to engage in formerly pleasurable activities. Depression is not a passing blue mood, which almost everyone experiences from time to time, but a complex mind/body illness that interferes with everyday functioning. It not only darkens one's outlook, it is commonly marked by sleep problems and changes in energy levels and appetite. It alters the structure and function of nerve cells so that it disrupts the way the brain processes information and interprets experience.

Despite feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness, depression is a treatable condition. It can be treated with psychotherapy. As with many illnesses, the earlier treatment begins, the more effective it can be and the greater the likelihood that recurrence can be prevented.

Psychotherapy addresses the thinking patterns that precipitate depression, and studies show that it prevents recurrence. Drug therapy is often helpful in relieving symptoms, such as severe anxiety, so that people can engage in meaningful psychotherapy.
