and families of all faiths or non-faith backgrounds.
Life is complicated and difficult. I believe that sooner or later we all are confronted with some aspect of living that is just too overwhelming to handle alone. Someone we love dies, or gets sick, money gets tight, relationships are strained, children have problems, and any number of symptoms start to emerge. At these times, we may be prone to despair and long for a deeper sense of satisfaction and desire more meaning for our lives. It is my hope that you will be courageous and ask for help now.

Almost all of us struggle, from time to time, with worry, unhappiness, self-hate, despair and anger. With too many negative feelings, our interpersonal lives can become conflicted and dysfunctional. We may lose our friends, job, or even our life
partner
, Further, we may turn to any number of drugs or behaviors to try to manage our pain.
Psychotherapy helps us to understand, cope with, and even change our painful feelings and behaviors. The goal is to enjoy and engage in life more fully, and move towards the goals that will give our lives meaning and value.

Asking for help is one of the most difficult things for someone to do. Life is not always easy, and sometimes we cannot do it on our own. This is nothing to be ashamed of. Life changes can bring about anxiety, depressed mood, or other more serious symptoms. I have helped
couples
and families improve their relationships by improving their anger management and communication skills and learning more effective parenting strategies.
I understand that the choice of a therapist is an important one. The trust that is built between the client and the therapist is important in determining how helpful therapy can be. I work hard to create a supportive therapeutic environment. I believe in providing a safe, non-judgmental atmosphere and encourage people to talk at a pace that is comfortable for them. I believe that an individual has the ability to learn to do things differently and feel better. I use techniques associated with the widely recognized cognitive behavioral theory as well as those from family system's theory.

problems, anger management, and a variety of other issues.
I believe one role of a therapist is to help clients find ways to become the version of themselves they truly desire to be. Every person already possesses a unique set of skills and base of knowledge stemming from their life experiences and personality. People are often more resilient and capable of change than they realize, and it is my goal to help clients identify personal strengths, learn new skills, and create meaning, peace, healing, and change. We all need help sometimes, and there is no shame in asking for guidance or seeking a safe space to process the many unexpected things life can bring.

And also with individuals experiencing panic attacks, high anxiety, affairs and

difficulties, depression, and low self-esteem.
Stuff happens that affects our thoughts, emotions and behaviors. I believe your mind works fine. But a facet of your mind is causing you to respond or feel in ways that make life more difficult than it should be. This ongoing emotional distress or pain is not helping you be more effective in your life. I will help you address that 'facet of mind' to unplug the emotional pain and irrational thinking, so that your thoughts and energy are moving you towards what is valuable in your life.

Couples Counseling Therapists
Does couples counseling work?
Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.
When should a couple seek counseling?
Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.
How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?
The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.
How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?
The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
