I work primarily with adolescents (ages 10-25), marriages, and men's issues. I currently supervise a team of therapists through Unbroken Family Counseling. I work within this team and, when necessary, work with schools, psychiatrists, and other community resources to help my clients. My ideal client is a teen who doesn't think he/she needs counseling, a marriage that is on the rocks, or a guy dealing with guy stuff (guys know what I'm talking about). Thank you for visiting here. I'm a therapist with over 25 years experience helping people create change in their lives. Sometimes the change occurs in learning how to manage mood disorders, like anxiety, panic or depression. Other times the change occurs in learning new skills to improve relationships as a partner, parent or employee.

We all feel things in ways others cannot understand. I get it. I am definitely not your typical counselor, I have a back story that goes on for miles. I also started out with goals in life, dreams, and thoughts about how I wanted life to be. Just like you, my journey was sidetracked by paths that were unforeseen. At times, fun, tragic, and potholes and bumps that challenged my core. Making the choice to come to counseling is awkward. To have to admit to yourself we have unresolved issues is a milestone. The secret is if you are reading this, you are stronger than you believe.

We all find ourselves at times in our life that we require nurturance to help us through life's changes. Loss in our lives requires care and guidance by a professional. Loss may be defined in various ways, it may be death, divorce, depression, addictions, infidelity, anxiety, infertility just to name a few. I work to specifically assist individuals, couples, families and groups to alleviate emotional disorders, to understand conscious and unconscious motivation, to resolve emotional, relationship and attitudinal conflicts and to help modify behaviors that interfere with effective emotional, social adaptive, and intellectual functioning.

I am an adolescent and adult therapist, as well as Director of Therapy Services for Advanced Behavioral Health Services, with credentials of Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), as well as a National Certified Counselor (NCC). I have experience providing therapy to adolescents and adults in individual, family and group settings. Areas of expertise include: mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder), anxiety, post-traumatic or acute stress, personality disorders, schizophrenia and delusional disorders, struggles with addiction, relationship issues, life transitions and loss/grief issues.

For over 35 years I have worked with individuals, couples and families to solve problems, improve relationships and make life transitions. In this time I have learned to respect the uniqueness of each individual and family, as well as the abilities and courage they bring to the challenges they face. My approach is friendly, straightforward and solution-focused, but with appreciation for the variety and complexity of factors that may be involved with the issues that folks bring to therapy. I enjoy collaborating with clients to manage stress and modify the patterns of thinking, feeling and acting that concern them.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 25 years of clinical experience. I work primarily with adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, and unresolved psychological trauma. I use my relationship with my clients in order to allow them to discuss uncomfortable emotions such as shame and guilt, in a non-judgmental relationship.

As a licensed clinical psychologist I dedicate my practice to the treatment of adolescent, adult, and older adult populations. I help clients overcome traumatic experiences, anxiety, depression, & adjustment difficulties. I combine compassion and collaborative psychotherapy with EMDR to help clients reach optimal performance and transform their lives. In addition, I appreciate the personal difficulties athletes face and assist in breaking through mental barriers that prevent them from performing to their potential.

COVID entered our lives in 2020, and has changed just about everything we do in our day to day lives. Some of us are working from home, back to zoom, and for others the workplace has changed. Travel restrictions, and fear of catching COVID has isolated many families. Variant after variant, we haven’t had much of a break from COVID. In 2022, many of us are tired of living this way, often struggling with anger, irritation, depression and anxiety. Going into the third year of COVID, nothing really has changed despite our belief that vaccinations would solve everything. Vaccines have helped but it has not led to pre-COVID normal.

Life can be a series of beginnings, middles and ends. As a licensed professional counselor, I work mainly with adolescents and adults suffering with anxiety and depression. I also work with those grieving the loss of a loved one, and those adjusting to changes in their lives. I believe you carry the power and ability to effect change in your life. I work with a variety of people with a common set of experiences-the after effects of trauma, both childhood and throughout the lifespan. Untreated trauma is often accompanied by anxiety, depression, physical problems and addictions.

I have adopted a mind-body-spiritual focus while working on issues related to trauma, anxiety, depression and addictions. I try to get each client to strive for balance among all aspects of their daily lives while trying to heal themselves from within. Adults and adolescents with anxiety and eating disorders with trauma histories resulting in addictive behaviors has been my primary focus. My goal is to assist clients in developing strong assertiveness skills through which self-empowerment and a sense of identity can emerge.
