I have worked with a wide array of individuals across many different intersections of identity and with many different presenting concerns/therapeutic goals. I enjoy working with every individual and find that I work best with folks who are hoping to take a more curious and compassionate approach to self-understanding and change. While I am well-versed in the clinical side of therapy, my clients are the experts in themselves and their lived experiences. It is important for me to understand your value system and adapt our work together accordingly. I would love to be a collaborator in the changes you hope to see in yourself!

Are you exhausted from repeating the same patterns? Constantly questioning your own reactions to situations? Or maybe you're carrying trauma that still lives in your body and don't know how to feel 'unstuck'? Therapy can help you move from survival to stability. I work with adults navigating relational trauma, intimate partner violence, substance use, and complex relationship dynamics. Many are functioning on the outside but internally managing anxiety, shame, hypervigilance, or selfdoubt. Together, we slow things down enough to understand what’s happening beneath the surface and build practical, sustainable change.

I’m a trauma, dating, and attachment specialist. I help adults untangle painful relationship patterns, unresolved trauma, and attachment wounds that continue to show up in dating, relationships, and everyday life. I specialize in EMDR and attachment-focused therapy, helping clients better understand the emotional patterns that keep repeating, even when they logically know better. (Because unfortunately, insight alone does not stop us from texting the emotionally unavailable person.) Having worked with various issues and clients for the last 15 years, I also consider myself to be a generalist practitioner.

Feeling anxious, burned out, or weighed down by depression? You may be questioning your career, relationships, or sense of self while feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or estranged from what “should” feel fulfilling. You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin. Many of the people I work with, including LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and kinky folks, developed early relational adaptations to survive and belong—patterns that may now shape connection, self-trust, and vitality. We can deepen awareness of these patterns and move beyond old molds that no longer fit, so you can experience more potency of existence and greater authenticity.

Therapy has to be about the client’s agenda and their needs and goals. Together we identify issue(s) to focus on and what changes the client is hoping to see. Together we identify the client’s strengths and the obstacles preventing them from living their best lives, such as flawed perceptions and thought patterns, negative self talk, self defeating behavior or a history of trauma or relationship issues. Then we focus on identifying solutions and how to implement them, managing and troubleshooting any obstacles that may arise.

Secular and Non-Religious Therapists
What is a secular and non religious approach in therapy?
Secular or non-religious therapy is a theoretical orientation used by many therapists and describes a therapeutic approach that does not rely on any specific religious or faith-based beliefs in the therapeutic process. Secular counselors will often approach therapy with an emphasis on evidence-based practices, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients, instead of relying on religious practices, such as prayer or belief in God.

Is secular therapy primarily for non-religious people?
Both religious and non-religious individuals can benefit from secular therapy. People exploring their religious or spiritual beliefs may find it especially useful to work with a secular therapist who is unbiased toward any specific religion. While religious individuals might value the connection and familiarity of seeing a counselor who shares their beliefs, secular counseling can offer them the chance to develop coping skills independent of their religious practice, which can be beneficial in various aspects of their lives.

Can a secular approach to therapy help with religious trauma?
One major reason clients may seek a secular therapist is to process previous religious experiences, including religious trauma. Secular therapists can help clients manage symptoms of the trauma through practices such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). They can also encourage clients through talk therapy or psychodynamic approaches to explore the roots of their religious trauma. Since secular therapists do not have any predetermined religious beliefs, they can be particularly helpful for clients looking to explore their own religious beliefs following a history of religious trauma.

What does non religious marriage and premarital counseling involve?
Marriage and premarital counseling typically involves a couple meeting with a therapist to discuss topics such as planning for marriage, navigating a new marriage, addressing relationship challenges, and developing better communication and conflict resolution skills. Non-religious therapists assist couples in achieving these goals without adhering to specific religious beliefs or frameworks, often emphasizing inclusivity and non-judgment, especially for "nontraditional" couples. However, seeking couples therapy from a non-religious counselor does not mean religious topics are off-limits. In fact, non-religious couples from different religious backgrounds may benefit from a secular therapist who remains neutral toward the beliefs of each partner.
