We possess a level of resilience that allows us to navigate even the most challenging obstacles. While life often brings hardships, it is through these difficulties that we find the opportunity for growth, transformation, and deeper self-awareness. By embracing our challenges and seeking inner balance, we can emerge from tough times not only with a greater understanding of ourselves but also with a renewed sense of purpose and strength. The journey through self-discovery is ultimately a path to growth, helping us to discover our true potential and foster a deeper sense of peace within.

First off it's a big deal to decide it's time for therapy. If you're looking for a nerdy weirdo therapist I might be the one. Your goals are my goals. I believe therapy is a relationship meant to empower people to make their own decisions. I’m not one to tell people what to do, but I will point in different directions so you can figure out what you need for yourself. Rapport is very important to me. A therapeutic alliance does not work without trust and mutual respect. I bring a balance of talk therapy with more holistic directives. I am also a huge nerd, I believe fandom can be healing and bring that into therapy where appropriate.

I’m here to listen to the story that you’ve written for yourself so far, and to help you write the next chapter. For us, the goal will be to help you find some much-needed balance in your life, despite all of the obstacles that may be slowing you down and forcing you to live outside of who you really want to be. It’s a fast-paced world out there, and I understand the types of demands that society has placed upon us. And often times, those demands can leave us feeling defeated, exhausted, frustrated, and unmotivated to be who we really want to be – and still, we’re forced to “keep it together.”

I have training in DBT and enjoy focusing on finding the best distress tolerance skills for my clients.
I believe in the importance of building a therapeutic relationship and comfortable environment and therefore believe in being authentic and realistic with clients. I find this to be especially important in working with adolescents, young adults, families, and those who hav experienced trauma. I enjoy getting to understand their prospective and being able to advocate for them as well as to teach them to advocate for themselves and learn the skills that they need to communicate more effectively with others. I also believe that working with families and parents creates more success for everyone and therefore facilitate more change.

I support individuals and couples navigating grief, anxiety, identity, life transitions, relational trauma, and emotional dysregulation—drawing on Narrative Therapy, DBT, IFS, and somatic practices to help you rewrite the stories keeping you stuck.
Healing isn't linear and life's transitions, traumas, and relational wounds shape how you move through the world. My clients are individuals and couples ready to understand themselves more deeply, examine the relationships that support or strain their wellbeing, and build clarity around the life they want to create. Together, we'll confront the parts of your story that feel heavy and help you reclaim meaning and agency. As a South Asian woman, I bring lived understanding to identity, cultural expectations, and family dynamics

My ideal client is someone who may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or unsure of how to move forward. They deeply want to feel seen, heard, and supported as they work through life’s challenges—whether it’s relationship struggles, low self-worth, or major changes. Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.

Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.

What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.

How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
