I use CBT, DBT, ACT, ERP, and Motivational Interviewing, along with elements of attachment-focused and somatic work.
Reaching out for therapy can feel difficult, but it can also be the first step toward feeling more in control and less stuck. If you’re dealing with anxiety, overthinking, OCD, mood swings, or patterns that keep repeating in your life or relationships, you don’t have to figure it out alone. I work with individuals who feel caught in cycles of worry, avoidance, emotional overwhelm, or self-doubt. Together, we identify what’s keeping those patterns going and build practical, personalized strategies to help you respond differently—so you can feel more steady, confident, and in control.

Anxiety has a way of taking over — whether it shows up as overthinking, feeling on edge, or pressure to perform in school, sports, or life. I work with teens and young adults who are tired of the self-doubt, panic, what-ifs, and that inner voice that won’t let up. Therapy with me is a space to take the pressure off. You don’t have to perform or have it all together. I bring empathy, curiosity, and a grounded presence. Together, we’ll explore what’s fueling the anxiety, build tools, and help you feel more confident, connected, and in control.

My ideal clients are adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, food and body image struggles, or the lasting effects of trauma. Many are looking for a space to slow down and feel heard without judgment, especially if past experiences felt too heavy to carry alone. My approach is warm, holistic, and trauma-informed — I prioritize safety and pacing, never pushing clients to revisit difficult moments before they're ready. Together, we attune to both mind and body, building sustainable tools clients can carry into everyday life.

Hi, I'm Tyler Biggs (MA TIU '26) (he/him), an MA on staff with Spring Tree Counseling and I'm well aware of the pressure to over-perform and under-recover. For men in particular, the expectation to provide some tangible service to the world and "prove" one's worth is a constant theme in my counseling. This can make us excel beyond our dreams, or find ourselves in a nightmare. I've worked in a range of fields from non-profit leadership development to college student mentoring to project management. And over the years, I journeyed alongside many high capacity people—and felt the difficulty of that title myself.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Therapists
Do I need exposure and response prevention therapy?
Many clients decide to seek help for obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors when these symptoms are distressing enough to disrupt everyday life. Any thoughts or behaviors that cause friction in close relationships are also worth addressing. In addition, the client’s symptoms don’t have to be severe for them to benefit from ERP therapy.

Is exposure and response prevention therapy part of cognitive behavioral therapy?
Exposure and response prevention is one specific type of CBT that focuses on behavioral change in response to triggering stimuli. It is related to exposure therapy but adds an additional component of preventing compulsive and harmful responses.

How long does exposure and response prevention therapy take?
While every patient is different, exposure and response prevention therapy typically lasts around 12 sessions, although some treatments can take longer. A therapist will determine if the treatment is complete based on how the client faces their fears, particularly the strongest ones. When a client feels less anxiety about stimuli that once evoked terror or distress, that is generally an indication that they are nearing the end of ERP therapy.

What are the limitations of exposure and response prevention therapy?
The most common pitfalls of exposure and response prevention therapy include not addressing a client’s core fears, allowing the client to avoid their most distressing stimuli, and using imaginary exposure when the client requires real-life exposure (and vice versa). ERP therapy is most effective when the client commits to the full course of treatment; if the client stops early or doesn’t practice what they have learned outside of therapy sessions, they are less likely to have successful outcomes.
