One of my favorite quotes comes from Toni Morrison’s Beloved: “You are your best thing.” It’s a reminder that everything you need for growth and self-discovery is already within you. I’m here to support women of color on that journey. My goal is to create a space where real change and healing can happen; by building up self-acceptance, unlearning continuously running on fumes, or combating thoughts that you aren't enough. My approach is always rooted in self-acceptance and empowerment. This is your story. You are the expert in your own life—I’m here to support you, ask meaningful questions, and help you tap into your strengths.

I am a queer, transfeminine clinician interested in transformative work where clients can be their complete selves.
I believe in the possibility of feeling, experiencing, and thinking differently about your life and its challenges. It can be hard to find that possibility alone, especially when these challenges press on our most sensitive parts. This is why I offer relational therapy–combining psychodynamic, liberatory, and trauma-responsive practices to support those who feel stuck. Maybe there’s an identity you’re struggling to embrace, a pattern or trauma that keeps resurfacing, or a relationship that feels unsustainable. I create a space to process, reflect, and reconnect with the parts of you that have gotten lost along the way.

You're looking for me if you're realizing that you have one or two big, uncomfortable questions like: "Why does my current relationship feel like this?" or "What would it be like to try solo poly or kink?" or "What do I want my next relationship to feel like?" or even "Was my primary caretaker my archnemesis this whole time?"

As a member of the queer community, I'm passionate about working with LGBTQ+ folks navigating the challenges of showing up authentically in a world.
My approach is collaborative, affirming, depth-oriented, strengths-based, and trauma-informed. Rather than giving you advice, I ask carefully chosen questions designed to help you challenge disempowering beliefs, reconnect with your motivations, and shift the way you relate to yourself and others.

Most of my clients are LGBTQ+ youth (especially trans youth), adolescent girls and their families, and parents who are healing from their own trauma.
Hi there! As a therapist, I work with youth and adults using narrative and identity-focused approaches to help you discover and claim your strengths, passions, and stories. I hold anti-oppressive and trauma-informed frameworks in all areas of my practice, recognizing the ways that our intersectional identities and experiences shape our engagement with ourselves and each other. In addition to counseling practice, I am also an educator and facilitator working to co-create a more radically welcoming, inclusive, and kind world. I believe in the power of story-telling, relationships, and experiential learning to help us grow,

My passion lies particularly in exploring how these focus areas intersect with queer, trans/gnc, & asexual identities.
Everyone grows at their own pace and I'm eager to give you the patience, empathy, and encouragement you deserve! As a queer, transmasc, ace-spectrum, and neurodivergent person (who deals with chronic pain) I understand ways society marginalizes people - though I recognize our experiences may be very different.

I support children and teens ages 3+ with a wide variety of symptoms including acting-out, post-traumatic symptoms, adjustment to family changes (new siblings, divorce, moves), anxiety, and difficulties with peer relationships. My approach is informed by psychoanalysis, art therapy, and play therapy. This means that I work from the understanding that a child's behavior and symptoms are an attempt at communicating something that is impossible to put into words. I pay close attention to the symbolic meaning of play to help kids find new ways of relating to their feelings.

Loss is one of our most profound and difficult experiences, but it is also the one thing that unifies us – we are ALL grieving different things at different times in our lives. Loss is not just death- it’s relationships, jobs, autonomy, identity, places, and more. As a therapist, I invite you to express your emotions about these things in whatever way feels natural to you, without judgement. We will set attainable goals that you can reach through our sessions together. By fostering supportive, non-judgmental spaces, I encourage you to explore, reframe, and reclaim your life stories on your terms.

I am queer, sex-positive, fat-positive, and trauma-informed.
As a relational therapist, I focus on supporting and witnessing clients in finding healing, connection, resolution, and repair to build a life and relationships that honor their values and imagination. Therapy is an opportunity for liberation from dominant social narratives that don’t work for us as individuals or in our relationships, and I recognize the often intergenerational and ongoing trauma of struggling against those narratives. Struggling in this way can disconnect us from ourselves and our intuition, and therapy can work through those barriers to reconnect us by recovering our innate curiosity and compassion for ourselves.

As a queer woman of color, my lived experiences inform my work as a therapist.
Many of the people I work with come to therapy seeking deeper self-understanding, healing from past experiences, and more fulfilling connections. Together we can work toward greater self-trust, stronger relationships, and a deeper sense of empowerment.

LGBTQ+ Therapists
Do LGBTQ-affirmative therapists receive special training?
Yes. Many therapists who practice LGBTQ-affirmative therapy have completed specialized training, either during their degree program or as continuing education, to learn the core principles of affirmative therapy and how to best support their LGBTQ clients; some have received certifications in LGBTQ-affirmative therapy. Prospective clients should inquire as to a clinician’s background and training to ensure a good fit.

Why might I want to see an LGBTQ-affirming or LGBTQ-friendly therapist?
Queer and gender-non-conforming individuals frequently experience bias and marginalization in day-to-day life. Working with a therapist who understands these unique challenges, as well as accepts and affirms their identity, can help LGBTQ clients feel safe and supported during therapy—allowing them to better navigate their relationships, mental health, and anything else that they wish to explore during therapy. It is important to note that many therapists can be effective in their work with LGBTQ+ individuals, even in the absence of specific training or background knowledge. The most important component in therapy is the alliance between therapist and client, and this alliance can exist between individuals with very different backgrounds.

How can I find an LGBTQ-friendly therapist?
You may wish to inquire about a therapist’s expertise with your specific challenges or concerns—depression, for example, or relationship strife—as well as their past experiences treating LGBTQ+ clients. Prospective clients may also ask whether a therapist has obtained additional training and/or certification in LGBTQ-affirmative techniques.

How can I inquire about a therapist’s experience with LGBTQ issues?
Prospective clients should feel empowered to directly ask therapists whether they have received training or been certified in LGBTQ-affirming therapy; competent therapists will be happy to explain their educational background and preferred approach(es) to help a client find the best match for them. Clients may also wish to ask how a therapist has treated clients with their particular challenges in the past and what they expect treatment to look like.

Are all the therapists listed in the LGBTQ directory themselves members of the LGBTQ community?
While therapists may choose to disclose their sexual orientation or gender identity in their profiles, the LGBTQ directory features not only those who have shared this information but also those who assert specialized training or experience in providing support to queer individuals, couples or families.
