One of my favorite quotes comes from Toni Morrison’s Beloved: “You are your best thing.” It’s a reminder that everything you need for growth and self-discovery is already within you. I’m here to support women of color on that journey. My goal is to create a space where real change and healing can happen; by building up self-acceptance, unlearning continuously running on fumes, or combating thoughts that you aren't enough. My approach is always rooted in self-acceptance and empowerment. This is your story. You are the expert in your own life—I’m here to support you, ask meaningful questions, and help you tap into your strengths.

My ideal clients are individuals navigating emotional, behavioral, or relational challenges who want a space where they feel genuinely seen and accepted. Many come to me after struggling with emotional regulation, anxiety, self-esteem, or relationship difficulties, looking for a therapist who meets them where they are rather than pushing them faster than feels safe. Using a strengths-based, relational approach, I help clients recognize their existing strengths while building new tools for emotional regulation, healthier relationships, and coping. My ideal client is someone who feels the weight of life’s constant ups and downs. They may be navigating daily stressors, major life transitions, or emotional challenges such as anxiety, depression, isolation, or losing direction. They might be questioning their identity, searching for meaning, or trying to understand who they are in a changing world. At their core, they want relief, clarity, and groundedness. They want to feel seen, supported, and understood, because moving through these struggles alone can feel overwhelming and lonely. I help by providing a safe, validating, and collaborative space.

My ideal client is often a caregiver, creative, or someone who supports others—like a parent, first responder, or partner of a veteran. They're navigating stress, anxiety, or burnout alongside life transitions like parenthood, career shifts, or chronic health changes. They want clarity, balance, and tools for emotional regulation. Deep down, they seek reconnection to their inner wisdom and peace beneath the noise. They’re not looking to be “fixed,” but to be met with compassion and supported in their growth.

Life can feel heavy and overwhelming when we are living with depression, anxiety, trauma, or triggers. Therapy offers a space to slow down, reconnect, and move through these experiences with greater presence and self-compassion. I know therapy is going well when tension and self-doubt give way to a sense of ease and confidence. I work with individuals who have a history of trauma, are in recovery, or are exploring identity, relationships, self-esteem, family dynamics, or life transitions. I invite curiosity and kindness toward all parts of the self, especially those who have learned to protect or adapt through adversity.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT) Therapists
Who is DBT for?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is designed for people who experience extreme emotional suffering because they lack the skills of emotion regulation and distress tolerance. The basic affliction can underlie a wide range of conditions, from borderline and other personality disorders to PTSD and treatment-resistant anxiety and depression. The therapy is helpful to those whose emotional reactivity is so intense it is disruptive to everyday functioning and leads to frequent crises.
Why do people need DBT?
The ability to regulate emotions is a core psychological skill that enables people to function in life and pay attention to the world outside themselves; it is consistently associated with well-being. DBT is designed to help people learn how to manage and regulate their emotions. Originally developed to treat people with borderline personality disorder whose extreme emotional suffering led to self-harming behavior and suicide attempts, the therapy is now applied to other conditions involving emotion dysregulation, particularly when other treatments have failed.
What happens in DBT?
Individuals meet weekly with their therapist to discuss their experiences relating to moods, behavior, and skills. Using checklists they maintain, they review emotional experiences and positive practices they engage in. The diaries help individuals discern what led up to a specific problem encountered, this is followed by discussion of the consequences of their actions. In addition, individuals may meet in class-like small groups to learn skills such as mindfulness, emotion regulation and distress tolerance.
How long does DBT last?
Because it is intended to establish long-lasting behavioral change among those with persistent problems, DBT is designed to last six months to a year. DBT includes both weekly sessions of individual therapy and weekly skills-training sessions conducted in small groups. Studies of DBT have documented improvement within a year of treatment, particularly in controlling self-harmful behavior; nevertheless, individuals may require therapy for several years.
