I discovered my passion to make a difference in others’ lives when I began my career in Behavioral Health over 20 years ago. I am privileged to meet people and together we find the solutions to whatever life problems come into our lives. I have been consistently told by clients that they feel safe and comfortable talking about whatever brings them in and that they feel better when they leave a session. It’s my goal to provide you the ability to leave a session with more than you came with as part of the process of change and healing.

I have years of training and experience working with survivors of trauma, mood issues, and Insomnia.
To understand each client, I begin by seeking out the strengths, abilities, and positive qualities that are present. Very often new clients are so used to thinking or hearing about their problems that they themselves seem to forget their own positive traits and attributes. Giving time and space for these elements to surface is helpful in many ways, including becoming a touchpoint of their own resources. I really enjoy helping foster resiliency among my clients, helping them recognize their capacities to cope, heal, and move beyond feeling stuck or powerless.

For sleep concerns, targeted behavioral and cognitive techniques help break the cycles quietly undermining your rest.
While you're holding it together on the surface, underneath something feels off. Maybe stress has crept into your nights, leaving you restless and drained. Maybe life has shifted, either a relationship, a loss, a transition, and you're struggling to find your footing again. Or perhaps anxiety, grief, or old patterns keep pulling you back when you're trying to move forward. Whatever brought you here, you don't have to have it figured out. I work with adults who are ready to stop just surviving and start healing, and I promise I'll meet you where you are, with curiosity, compassion, and zero judgment.

Internal challenges like anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, or addiction—and external pressures such as relationships, work demands, and systemic injustice—can all create barriers to growth. Our goal as therapists is to help clients reconnect with their values and move toward a more fulfilling life through evidence-based, integrative, and compassionate care tailored to each person’s unique needs and experiences.

I am also certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBTi) and can support clients in resolving sleep difficulties.
Many of the clients I work with carry the belief that something about them is inherently "wrong"—that they are not enough or not worthy. I strive to help them recognize that they are worthy of connection, acceptance, and peace, regardless of what past experiences, other people, or even their own inner critic may have led them to believe. My approach is collaborative and grounded in curiosity, authenticity, openness, and humor. Together, we explore long-held beliefs and patterns, creating space for greater self-awareness, healing, and growth. Through this process, clients can develop new ways of relating to themselves and others.

How effective is treatment for insomnia?
The most effective treatments for insomnia are behavioral techniques that reduce anxiety, including anxiety about falling asleep, and allow the body’s natural cycles to be recalibrated. The most common treatment is cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), which researchers have found to be more useful than medication, with rates of success as high as 80 percent.

Are there specific medications for sleep problems?
There are many medications, both over-the-counter and prescription that treat sleep problems. Supplements such as melatonin are popular and may help, though there is little evidence that it is more effective than a placebo. Prescription medications such as zolpidem are sometimes prescribed.

Are there natural treatments for sleep problems?
There are many natural treatments for everyday sleep problems. Reducing blue-light emitting screens, setting a regular bedtime, regular exercise, reducing caffeine and nicotine consumption, and keeping the bedroom dark and cool at night are all lifestyle changes that can help those who struggle with sleep but may not reach the level of an insomnia diagnosis.

What’s the difference between having trouble falling asleep and insomnia?
Life events, stress, and anxiety can lead to sleepless nights for everyone from time to time. To be diagnosed with insomnia, a patient must experience trouble falling asleep, trouble remaining asleep, waking up too early, or non-restorative sleep at least three nights per week for at least one month. Sleep problems affect one-third to one-half of the population, while chronic insomnia affects about 10 to 15 percent of people.
