I work with children and adolescents who feel overwhelmed by anxiety, ADHD, or the effects of trauma, and with parents who want to help them feel safe, understood, and capable. Many of my young clients struggle with worry, anger, or emotional regulation at home or school. In therapy, we focus on building confidence, coping skills, and emotional awareness while strengthening the parent–child connection.

I believe that we are each influenced not only by our upbringing and families of origin, but also by the political and economic structures in which we live. For many of us, this means experiencing racial, economic, sexual and gender-based oppression, which impacts both our mental and physical health. As a working class member of the transgender community, I know how harmful it can be to live in a world that feels like it was built against you. But you are not alone in this. Together, we can work to make the world a safer, calmer, happier place for you.

By picking up the phone and contacting a therapist, you've taken the hardest step: a coming to an awareness that you would like to affect change in your life. I believe in an interactive, dynamic approach where together we explore the history of an issue, it's effects and most importantly, institute a positive plan for change.

I’m Rita and I’m glad you’re here! I specialize in working with young adults (18-35 years old), that identify as artists, creatives, healers and therapists to uncover their motivations, passions, and internal voices. I have advanced training in and specialize in PTSD, Developmental Trauma, and Attachment. Trauma can create global effects on the mind and body, and I work hard, alongside my clients, to remove trauma blocks from their path, in order to clear the way towards the bold lives that they have dreamed for themselves. I utilize EMDR and Somatic Experiencing to help my clients work somatically to heal trauma stored in the body.

If you feel stuck, trapped, and unheard, I want to help you through working together to identify your goals and what needs to change. Therapy can be used to process what you are experiencing in a nonjudgmental environment.
You deserve to feel seen and valued as you are. Therapy can help develop attachment security and a sense of comfort to be able to explore deeper parts of yourself with someone else.
During our work together, through sharing your interests and preferences, you set the pace of your healing. This creates and develops your personal agency and assertiveness even outside of the therapy space.

Our ideal clients resonate with mixed-modalities and creative approaches to healing. We serve those living on the fringes of society. We center the outliers, rebels, and radicals through individual growth and collective liberation. Treatment is a blend of evidence-based practice and healing through cultural and community care.
Our clients are seeking wholistic mental health care free of shame, stigma, and rigid programming. Our clients enjoy being active participants in developing goals and wellness plans. Our clients are not seeking to be "fixed" but rather to understand how to navigate inhumane cultural norms and expectations

I continually work to create an environment that feels safe, warm, and supportive for each person. My goals as a therapist are to establish connection, to be adaptable and creative enough that differences are respected and more alternatives explored, and to identify strengths that can be used as a foundation for coping. As a part of the process, goals are set to create balance between work, life, and self. Ultimately, an ideal client would recognize the need for more or a need for something to change in their situation and be brave enough to take the first major step and call.
