To support my clients in navigating the impact of trauma, I primarily pull from parts work, somatic modalities, attachment theory, and feminist relational theory.
Welcome! As a trauma therapist, I seek to create a space in which my clients are inspired to learn about themselves and develop compassion for the ways they've survived. While I draw from several therapeutic modalities, I ultimately approach therapy as a collaborative space. As your therapist, I hold a deep respect for your autonomy and agency, I commit to transparency in my work, and I embrace any feedback you choose to share. While I bring my training and knowledge, you carry your own skills and expertise–– let's work together in service of you.

I take a trauma-informed stance and thoughtfully incorporate somatic and narrative therapy techniques to support healing through deeper self-understanding and more authentic connection.
Trauma, grief, and disconnection may shape us, but they don’t define us. We can free ourselves from the shame and guilt we’ve inherited by asking for and accepting care from our community, because healing happens when we are in connection with others. I partner with folks, exploring how past experiences impact their well-being and relationship dynamics to find their bespoke path toward healing. Together, we’ll untangle patterns rooted in pain, rebuild trust, and foster self-compassion. Therapy is a space to unburden yourself and create a life of deeper meaning and connection. Let’s begin your healing journey together.

I support you in body based ( somatic) practices combined with talk therapy.
Feeling anxious, disorganized or desiring more peace and more support? Curious about how to regulate your nervous system? I specialize in mind–body connection work for adults who want to reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and/or ADHD, make sense of their circumstances, and—when relevant—gain insight into their relationships. In our first few sessions, I offer a warm, nonjudgmental space to share your story, explore what you need, and we gently set intentions for our work together. We move at your pace with warmth, curiosity, and care, and, when appropriate, I guide you in listening to the wisdom of your body.

In my practice, I offer somatic experience and Cognitive Behavioral, Dialectical Behavioral, and Emotional-Focused Therapy.
I work best with people who feel deeply, think creatively, and may have walked away from past therapy feeling unseen, misunderstood, or even unsafe. If you have tried therapy before and it did not feel like the right fit, you are not alone, and it does not mean healing is not possible. Clients often tell me that our work together feels different. They are able to exhale, let their guard down, and finally feel safe enough to explore what they have been carrying for so long. Creating that sense of emotional safety is at the heart of everything I do. Together, we gently process and make sense of painful or overwhelming experiences,

I draw from feminist theory, decolonization practices, existentialism, and somatic modalities.
It makes sense to feel overwhelmed as you navigate life’s challenges, both personal and systemic. Rather than focus on dysfunction, I help clients understand how patterns of thought and behavior are uniquely adaptive in a world shaped by systems of inequity. From there, we can look for opportunities to help you reconnect with your community, resources, and embodied self. I aim to provide a compassionate, nonjudgemental space to explore your most vulnerable and authentic parts as we search for meaning together.

I draw on my experience in improvisation and music to make therapy a co-creative process, focused in the present moment, with somatic and mindfulness approaches to support a sense of internal aliveness, well-being, and authenticity.
I work with people who are experiencing anxiety and distress. Many feel stuck in unsatisfying experiences. We can gently explore these experiences in ways that can loosen their "grip", and bring innate healing resources into play, cultivating a deeper sense of ease and opportunity in everyday experience. The dissolving of these unsatisfying patterns, and the appearance and growth of more satisfying ones, happens in both individual and relationship therapy.

Somatic Therapists
How does somatic therapy work?
Somatic therapy is a form of treatment that focuses on how the body and mind are interconnected. In this approach, physical symptoms are addressed because they may in fact signal emotional distress. Somatic therapists combine mindfulness, talk therapy, breathwork, yoga, dance, and physical manipulations of the body to help patients become more attuned to what their body is telling them.

Is EMDR a somatic therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of somatic therapy, as it incorporates mental and physical principles. EMDR involves remembering a traumatic experience while allowing one’s eyes to track a side-to-side visual stimulus from a therapist. This lateral eye movement is believed to diminish the painful power of the memory so that it can be discussed with a therapist.

Is somatic therapy evidence-based?
Somatic therapy has been researched and studied, and some forms of somatic therapy are found to be effective in treating a wide range of conditions. Because somatic therapy encompasses many techniques, some, such as EMDR and meditation, have been studied more than others.

What is somatic trauma therapy?
Somatic trauma therapy is based on the idea that when people experience trauma, they can become stuck in the “freeze” part of a “fight, flight, or freeze” response. In this state, trauma can manifest itself both mentally and physically—through tension in the muscles, anxiety, and stress. Popular forms of somatic trauma therapy include EMDR, sensorimotor therapy, and somatic experiencing.
