I’m a Albanian-American therapist with family roots in North Macedonia, and I bring a culturally informed, down-to-earth approach to my work. I help individuals who are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma/medical trauma, ADHD, burnout, and work-life balance, especially those who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or not like themselves. As someone who is a survivor of Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP), I have a personal understanding of the challenges that can come with medical conditions, chronic illness, and autoimmune disorders.

Shopping around online for a human to trust can be a very strange experience, and I know that starting this journey can feel overwhelming! That's why I prioritize being a human first, and a therapist second. First, we'll cover your life history so therapy is individualized to your own experiences. I utilize creativity, self-reflection, education, humor, art, and tailored interventions to promote the growth and change you are seeking. Together, we'll look beyond symptoms to examine your relationships. I believe knowledge is a transformative tool that can help us update how we relate to ourselves, others, and the world around us.

I believe therapy is advocacy. I want therapy to be a space where my clients can learn about themselves, rest, and when they are ready, advocate for changes that move them towards their best life. I find that those of us with numerous marginalized identities have already been advocating for ourselves our whole life. However, we shouldn’t have to do this alone. This is why I'm particularly interested in working with those of us who are at the intersection of numerous marginalized identities, including BIPOC, LGBTQ+ immigrants, South Asians, first- and second-generation immigrants, college students, LGBTQ+ young adults, and adults.

I use a collaborative model, where sessions feel like two people having a conversation in my living room, versus a stereotypical doctor/patient interaction. I don't view your issues as coming from an abnormal psychopathology, but instead as a reaction to living in a stressful, complex, and contradictory world. I seek to understand your issues in the context of your unique experience rather than viewing you as having something wrong or being broken. My focus is on what you need from me....I take my lead from you.

Something's gotten in the way of the life you want to be living. Maybe it's OCD ; the relentless loop of doubt, the "what ifs," the exhausting rituals. Maybe it's trauma that lives in your body long after the events have passed. Maybe it's the particular kind of depletion that comes from being the person everyone else leans on. Whatever brought you here, you don't have to navigate it alone. My approach is rooted in collaboration, honoring your strengths and nurturing the connections already within you.
