I believe everyone is capable of change, especially when one feels empowered and supportive to reach one’s goals. I use various treatment modalities, such as, cognitive behavioral therapy, person-centered, and solution focused treatment to assist my patients to gain personal insight and bring about healthy changes. I work collaboratively with my patients and families to offer support, insight, and opportunities for change. I help my patients identify personal strengths and additional resources to aide in their mental health. Most of all, I provide a safe, nurturing, therapeutic environment for my patients.

If you’ve landed here, you might be carrying more than most people can see. On the outside, it may look like you’re holding it all together—but inside, it can feel like you’re barely hanging on. Maybe you overthink, people-please, or struggle to ask for what you need without guilt. Healing isn’t about fixing yourself—it’s about coming home to who you’ve always been underneath the survival strategies. You don’t have to figure it out alone. This is a space where you get to show up just as you are—messy, real, and human. Neurodiverse affirming care.

I use an interactive style when doing therapy, guiding and empowering clients to trust the wisdom received from the unconscious, and to use that wisdom with awareness. In this way, we facilitate the individuation process together. Individuation continually returns the individual identity--the Ego--to a healthy intimacy with the Self, the core of our being. By companioning you as you deepen your relationship to the Self and the archetypes, our therapeutic alliance can help sustain a vibrant, healthy and genuine presence in life.

I have formal post-graduate training in DBT Skills Training, Mindful Awareness, Relational Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, and Archetypal Analysis.
Too often psychotherapy focuses on causality, pathology and cures. However, rather than being "sick" or 'broken", often we are just lost inside ourselves or relationships. Everyone is a unique person with their own story, experience and perspective. The goal of therapy is to achieve a deeper awareness of where we are, to discover internal meaning for our many experiences, and to experience a life worth living. While working towards that awareness, I feel that it's also important to teach healthier coping skills to assist in dealing with the anxiety and day to day stressors that bring individuals to therapy.

Hi, my name is Dr. Nikki Ruffin. My belief is that effective counseling work develops from establishing a collaborative relationship with clients. The goals of therapy are to gain self-awareness and understanding of the influence of their past on present circumstances, explore unresolved conflicts and symptoms that arise that manifest themselves in current issues going in their lives. Once this self awareness is recognized clients can examine unhealthy beliefs that lead to unhealthy behaviors and learn to change unhealthy thoughts to more realistic ones that lead to better emotional and mental health.

My work is grounded in an advanced education within a psychodynamic and psychoanalytic training.
Regardless of the therapeutic approach, the successful outcome is accomplished in a non-judgmental and highly accepting environment while creating a strong and trusting therapeutic relationship.

I became a clinician because I know what it is like to feel unheard and disconnected from my communities, and I wanted to provide a space where people could come and feel seen and heard. I believe that therapy is about healing, which comes primarily from being understood, valued, and heard as your authentic self. I am continuing to grow in my own journey and am passionate about helping others navigate through their journey in ways that feel meaningful and supportive.

You've been the strong one for so long — the caregiver, the fixer, the one holding everyone else together while quietly falling apart inside. Maybe you're grieving a loss that changed everything. Maybe your relationship is breaking down and you don't know how to find your way back. Maybe you're a woman starting over after divorce, heartbreak, or a season that didn't go the way you planned. You're exhausted, emotionally drained, and desperately longing for peace, clarity, and someone who truly sees you. You don't need to explain yourself here. You just need to finally be heard.

If you have been in therapy before and are looking for something that can assist in healing on a deeper level look no further. You may be looking for a therapy experience where you can explore your own individual life path, where you can get to and heal the root of your relationship issues, your depression, your anxiety, your childhood wounding, and/or your pain. You may be ready to understand and change the long standing patterns that are negatively affecting your life and to finally truly understand why you feel, think, and behave the way you do, heal those issues, and create the life you truly desire.

I think of the work of analysis much like the process of working with a tangled knot: rather than following a step-by-step program, in order to know how to proceed one must involve one’s hands in the work of pulling on threads and becoming intimate with their interrelations. Gradually, through the radical space of free speech that psychoanalysis affords as well as the creative play of desire that comes to surround that speech, the tangled convolutions that we have accumulated in life can be loosened and streamlined into a means of tying our world together that feels right.

You may be feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, navigating the effects of past experiences, or seeking support around identity-related stress. Therapy can be a space to slow down, reflect, and better understand yourself. I work with children, adolescents, adults, and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and LGBTQ+-related concerns. To support our work together, I draw from a blend of evidence-based, trauma-focused approaches, including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness, and expressive therapies such as art, narrative, and movement-based work.
