My ideal clients are individuals whose lives have been turned upside down by a new or ongoing medical diagnosis—such as cancer, dementia, a brain injury, stroke, transplant, or a complicated pregnancy or fertility journey. Many come to me feeling shocked, scared, angry, guilty, or simply numb. They worry about what this means for their future, their independence, their work, and their closest relationships. They may feel alone in their experience, unsure how to talk about it with loved ones or how to make decisions about treatment and next steps.

I am a firm believer that the success of a therapeutic relationship can be determined within the first two sessions. A strong alliance between the practitioner and client is essential for the success of treatment. As such, I place a strong emphasis on creating an environment that fosters comfortable conversation, safety, and openness between us as partners in the therapeutic process. By doing so, and allowing conversation to flow naturally, I believe that a more authentic alliance can begin to develop. I adhere mainly to cognitive behavioral theory to serve as the backbone for the therapeutic techniques that I employ.

I specialize in working with adolescents and college students (average age 13 to 25) who struggle with anxiety related to Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and trauma. I have extensive experience in treating survivors of sexual abuse. I utilize exposure and response-prevention (ERP) interventions, which are designed to help confront fears, expand comfort zones, and extinguish avoidance behaviors. I help to achieve trauma resolution by processing traumatic incidents, reducing the associated anxiety and anger, and assisting in therapeutic corrective experiences.

Seeking therapy can be an uncomfortable experience that takes a lot of courage. Making an initial appointment is the first step of the process of healing and becoming the best version of ourselves. Therapy allows self-reflection, support, and insight. Although the process is not linear and there may be some painful and halting moments, it is a chance to figure out what is and isn't doing you justice. I view my clients holistically and work collaboratively with them to have a better understanding of how they live their lives and how to achieve better functioning and life satisfaction.

Authenticity, compassion, and empathy are qualities and values that I try to embody in both my personal and professional lives. As a therapist I aim to help you examine challenging parts of your experience (internal and external) and decide what you would like to do about them. No matter what you are going through, therapy can help you live a more fulfilling and purposeful life (as defined by you).

When your relationship is shaped by unhealed wounds, even the smallest moments can ignite tension, distance, or shutdown. You and your partner love each other deeply, yet you continue to stew in the same conflicts, reacting to old triggers that neither of you fully understands. You want connection, but the past keeps slipping into the present – turning tenderness into defensiveness and vulnerability into silence. You’re tired of putting out emotional fires instead of nurturing a bond that’s stable, safe, and secure. It’s time to understand these dynamics so you can build a relationship strong enough to hold both of your histories.

Everyone deserves to feel heard and seen. Change is scary. Uncertainty is scary. Each of these though are important for personal development and growth. I have always felt therapy is displaying patience, compassion, empathy and empowerment. I strive to bring these qualities to each session as well as incorporating light-hearted humor, which can go a long way! Rapport building within a client-clinician relationship is important to create a safe and respectful space for self-exploration. It's important to me to collaborate with each person to best support their own goals and wants for therapy, meeting the person wherever they are at.

Highly productive psychotherapy can take many forms, including targeted, evidence-based interventions as well as more dynamic, long-term approaches. I tend to use a mix of present-centered skills, specific techniques, open dialogue, collaboration, and insight-building to identify and disrupt problematic cycles that are acting as barriers to living a healthy, thriving, values-driven life. What's most important is that we find an approach that helps you safely explore new ways of approaching your life and relating to your sense of self, others, and the world.

Many people seek therapy because something in their life isn't working, or because challenging emotions or past experiences are holding them back in some way. I help clients overcome their past, understand themselves, become mindfully present, and gain the confidence to make the choices that lead them where they want to go. I have specialized training and experience working with survivors of interpersonal violence, complex trauma and PTSD, and those living with chronic illness, as well as LGBTQIA+ individuals, couples, and non-traditional relationship structures such as ENM and Polyamory.

As a psychotherapist, I invite you to show up with your full, untranslated, and sometimes confusing self. I work with individuals, couples, and polycules navigating complex trauma, anxiety, depression, identity, and relationship concerns, including longstanding patterns often associated with dissociation and personality disorders. I have specific experience supporting queer and trans BIPOC communities that have been shaped by race, gender, sexuality, power, or institutional harm. I believe healing is grounded in a meaningful dynamic between therapist and patient, where trust, curiosity, and emotional safety make growth possible.

Being able to assist people in creating a meaningful life, in recognizing what’s important for them and in overcoming adversity are some of the most fulfilling parts of therapy. Whether life transitions, identity concerns, interpersonal difficulties, or psychological disorders, therapy has a lot to offer for all people. I strive to co-create with you a space where you feel comfortable talking about those things we rarely tell other people. My therapeutic approach is modified depending on the person. I will usually walk you through the process of therapy, as for some it can be seen as intimidating and scary.

Therapy has the potential to be as diverse as human beings are. It is where clients and therapists co-create a nonjudgmental space to explore vulnerability and show our authentic selves. I facilitate this by showing up with radical genuineness as a curious and warm therapist. Using a collaborative approach, I shape treatment to your style, pace and goals. I model acceptance of who you are by helping you validate your emotions and recognize your strengths. We balance this with techniques that challenge you and coping skills that support you through the work.
