I am a queer-identified, kink-affirming therapist who partners with individuals to navigate a world that is often rooted in arbitrary and limiting rules. I am especially passionate about the self-actualization of folks in their sexuality, gender, neurodiversity, and relationships of any configuration. I believe that everyone deserves a space to reflect creatively on what makes their life sustainable and authentic.

Our world can be a tough place that leaves many of us feeling overwhelmed and misunderstood. If you’re tired of the systems working against you and are ready to receive unwavering support in breaking down the walls keeping you from your best relationships and self, I would love to assist you.
You can expect our sessions to provide a sanctuary that is polyamory, sex worker, kink, and LGBTQIA+ affirming, QTBIPOC-centered, antiracist, trauma-informed, COVID-safer, and nonjudgmental so that you feel safe to show up as your authentic self. I aim to help uncover the resilient parts of you by working through a decolonial lens.

Finding the support that you need is no easy feat, and the fact that you are here is a wonderful first step. By consistently cultivating a liberating and judgement-free space, I aim to help you explore personal challenges through an empathic and compassionate lens. My therapeutic style is best described as eclectic; however, I often utilize narrative therapy to help people gain a more holistic understanding of their thought patterns and behaviors. As a queer Black person who enjoys working with other marginalized folks, I believe in taking an intersectional, person-centered, and strengths-based approach to therapy for empowerment.

I offer queer- and neurodivergent-affirming therapy grounded in existential and multicultural approaches. Therapy, for me, is an intimate and collaborative space where who you are right now is honored through a sociocultural lens. Guided by existential and multicultural counseling models, I believe we are all shaped by the larger systems, communities, and histories we live within. By naming these influences together, we create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can explore your identity more fully and begin to move toward who you want to become.

Maya Angelou said, "There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you." Your life's story matters. Perhaps in this chapter you're encountering low self-esteem, anxiety & depression or relationship concerns. You may be looking to heal from past trauma, or needing a place to ventilate overwhelm. I can help with that. I'll meet you where you're at and help you build a sense of agency for the change you'd like to author in your life. I'm not an 'Oz behind a curtain' type therapist but more of a fellow traveler, drawing from both lived experience and professional training to guide and empower.

I find that often, the problems people show up to therapy with are coping skills or life lessons that have moved out of their initial context and become unhelpful or outright harmful. My approach is to identify the underlying beliefs, emotional and practical needs, and find a way to meet them with new tools and perspectives. It's not my job to tell someone what life to live, but to help them reach the life that feels ideal for them. My approaches balance emotional expression with adaptive thinking, and I use interpersonal neurobiology to give clients an idea of what their body and brain is doing.

I'm a transsexual and gender nonconforming mental health professional who provides support, guidance, and a space to interrogate deeper questions. I prefer to do therapy that emphasizes that you are the expert of your life; I’m not interested in pushing you to believe what I say or even believe that I have advice for you to follow. I want our therapeutic relationship to be a place where you are supported in challenges, not pressured; I’m willing to bet you have plenty of pressure in the rest of your life.

A storyteller, social worker, and emerging therapist with over 15 years of experience supporting unhoused, HIV positive, LGBTQ youth, and those navigating mental health & substance use challenges. My work extends beyond the therapy room—into advocacy, organizing, and direct action across Chicago. I believe healing is both personal and political. Our mental health does not exist in a vacuum—it’s shaped by systems of oppression including racism, transphobia, fatphobia, ableism, misogyny, antisemitism, colonialism, and capitalism. These forces deeply inform our lived experiences and cannot be separated from our therapeutic work.

My assumption about most people who seek out a therapist is they are stuck in a situation and have already tried everything they can think of to get unstuck. My approach is pragmatic, non-judgmental, and client-centered. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and polycules to develop new skills that will empower them to move towards the lives they want to live. I am a total nerd about therapy and love the creativity of tailoring therapeutic approaches to clients.

Starting therapy can be scary whether it's your first time or just your first time in a while. To support you in the best way I can, my aim is to create an environment where you can truly be yourself whether we're meeting virtually or face-to-face.

Each person I have the honor of working with allows me into their life in a unique way that I value, and consistently strive to gain greater humility from. Being Seen & Heard without judgement, and feeling truly cared for, is essential to building relational trust. That is why I prioritize the establishment of a safe, affirming, and honestly inclusive space for exploring your mind through the lens of your sense of Self and lived experiences. As your therapy progresses, it is my intention that you find freedom in both mourning the past, and being in the present.

Does it matter what gender my therapist is?
The gender of your therapist can matter, depending on your individual comfort preferences and therapeutic goals. While therapy outcomes are often driven by the therapist’s methodology and the strength of the therapeutic relationship, many people feel more at ease working with a therapist who shares or understands their gender identity, which can enhance trust and improve therapy outcomes. For clients who are non-binary or gender-diverse, working with a therapist of a similar identity may reduce the need to explain or justify their experiences and can increase the sense of being seen and understood. This dynamic may be especially important when addressing topics related to gender, sexuality, trauma, or relationships. Ultimately, what matters most is finding a therapist who is respectful and knowledgeable of your identity—regardless of their own gender.
What are the advantages of seeing a non-binary therapist?
Working with a non-binary therapist can offer unique benefits for individuals seeking support around gender identity. Therapists who personally identify as non-binary may bring both professional training and personal insight to their work, creating a therapeutic space that some clients may find more affirming and welcoming. These therapists often have specialized knowledge in areas such as gender-affirming care, gender dysphoria, and navigating family or social acceptance. They may also be particularly skilled in helping clients find additional resources, such as affirming healthcare providers or community-based supports that align with and affirm their identity.
How can I find a non-binary therapist?
The Psychology Today online directory is a helpful tool for identifying therapists who identify as non-binary. You can use filters to search by identity markers as well as by clinical specialty, therapeutic approach, insurance accepted, session costs, and languages spoken to help ensure a good fit. During an initial consultation or early sessions, consider asking about the therapist’s training in gender-affirming care, their experience with LGBTQ+ clients, and their therapeutic approach to identity-related topics. An effective therapist will be open and affirming in their responses. You can also look for credentials or continuing education in areas such as LGBTQ+ mental health, trauma-informed care, and intersectionality.
