Waitlist for new clients
I use depth psychodynamic theory, and draw on liberation psychology, feminist counseling, and existential therapy.
I currently have a waitlist for individual therapy, and am only available for clinical supervision. I am fortunate to work with a team of amazing psychotherapist I would be happy to connect you with if you are looking for individual or relationship therapy.
Good therapy is more than just validation, it is important to work with intention from a theory that can help us understand the “why” behind patterns. This is why I practice and teach Depth Psychotherapy and Liberation Psychology.

I use multicultural and feminist lenses while practicing with cultural humility to tailor my approach to you, your culture, life context, and experiences - a generic, one-size-fits-all response would be unrealistic and unhelpful to the unique individual that you are.
I'm a queer therapist who often works with LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and Latine children, adults, couples/partners, families, and polycules, while being mindful of my white identity. My areas of interest include identity exploration and intersectionality, difficulties related to sex and intimacy, challenges in communication between partners, and non-monogamous and polyamorous relationships. I work across the lifespan and have experience with children as young as three years old through adulthood. I often pull from frameworks such as psychodynamic theory, person-centered therapy, and attachment theory.

I often use multicultural and feminist frameworks to gently undo aspects of mental health that are stigmatized in many BIPOC communities.
I work within BIPOC communities to help with difficulties navigating ethnic and/or racial identity, past & present family dynamics, mood-related concerns, interpersonal relationships, neurodiversity, and overall emotional regulation. Throughout my career, I have seen how a safe therapeutic relationship creates space to explore one's self, family, and larger system in order to relearn ways of navigating life with culturally-informed self-determination. I use eclectic approaches to weave together different theories that create a custom-tailored treatment plan according to individual needs, backgrounds, strengths, goals, and more.

I use a feminist relational model for trauma to assist in reframing connections, a systems framework, especially with couples.
If you are ready to find ways to be your truest self, move through your grief, anxiety, trauma or depressive symptoms either long held or recent, I may be a good fit for you. As a former Naprapath, now therapist, my understanding of the connection between the mind and body has proved powerful to clients trying to understand the inner relationship between these two parts of ourselves. I often hear words like, 'stuck,' 'numb,' 'confused,' 'alone,' 'outsider.' Trying to put words to what ones experience is can be daunting at best. Giving voice to experiences is transforming.

I work from a social justice, anti-racist, queer, feminist approach that welcomes people from all walks of life, cultures, and identities.
It's challenging to deal with changes in your life, finding your identity, and managing relationships no matter what, but it's even more challenging if you don't take the "traditional" route. As a queer individual, I know the challenge myself. Whether you want to explore your gender or sexuality, receive support throughout a major transition, work through relational difficulties, heal from trauma, or simply expand your feeling of self-love, I can help. I work with folx of all ages to heal from personal and systemic traumas, through the means of deconstructing old narratives and building new meanings of the events in your life.

Informed by recent developments in neuroscience, this intersectional feminist theory prioritizes mutuality, relationship, and community as the tools by which to change one's life individually and collectively, often in opposition to systemic oppressions.
Lots of people seek counseling for problems that are bigger than any one person. Managing relationships, school or work - let alone anxiety, depression, spirituality, sexuality, or identity - is a lot to ask of someone who is already navigating oppressive systems every day. Together, we can build a judgement free space to untangle the painful mental and emotional knots in your life. I can support you to find ways to connect anew, to live confidently and authentically, and to get through the hard times.

Feminist Therapists
How does feminist therapy work?
Feminist therapy sessions are not only personal but often cultural or political in nature, as the approach is based on the belief that people are affected by, and often struggle with, cultural and societal norms and biases, and need to move beyond those external pressures or stressors to tap their own confidence and engage more fully in their own identity. Sessions may therefore include discussions of sexism, diversity, and gender issues and talk of steps toward greater empowerment for patients who believe they have been silenced and seek to raise their voices.
What are examples of feminist therapy techniques?
Along with traditional talk therapy and analysis, a feminist therapist may employ techniques such as role-playing and assertiveness training to help clients build their self-esteem so that they feel they can act freely, and not based on cultural expectations or gender roles dictated by others. A feminist therapist may also engage in bibliotherapy, offering suggested readings on gender identity or social power inequities as they work toward viewing mental-health concerns through a broad cultural lens before focusing on how they affect the individual. Somatic therapy techniques, with an emphasis on body awareness, self-compassion, and mindfulness practices are also often part of feminist therapist practice.
How long does feminist therapy last?
As with most forms of talk therapy, there is no set duration or end point for feminist therapy; people who believe that they are making progress typically continue until they feel they’ve addressed the issues that had been holding them back. It may take some time to become comfortable discussing personal issues, but once a client feels they can do so, they could expect therapy to last for a number of months, typically including at least 12 sessions.
Does feminist therapy work?
As a relatively recent therapeutic technique, there is not yet a body of evidence proving the efficacy of feminist therapy. However, the approach is based on proven core principles of talk therapy, with a particular emphasis on developing a therapeutic relationship based on equality and authentic connection between therapist and client and discovering and building on clients’ personal strengths to help them gain a greater sense of personal power and agency.
