I am a neurodivergent-affirming counselor specializing in ADHD treatment. Drawing from my personal experiences and professional expertise, I provide a safe and understanding space where individuals can explore their unique neurodivergent identities and challenges.

It just happened again. A coworker said something that rubbed you slightly the wrong way, and you exploded at them. Now you’re feeling ashamed and confused – “Why does this keep happening to me?” Your fuse has been so short lately. Every task feels daunting, and you’re constantly overwhelmed. If it’s not work, it’s the kids, your partner, or friends – someone ALWAYS needs something from you. Of course, you need things too, but there’s no time for that. So you ignore what you want and keep pushing through. But it’s taking a toll. You’re unsure how much longer you can go on like this. You want to make a change but don’t know how.

Feeling more overwhelmed, anxious and stressed lately?
I honor the strength and courage it takes to begin therapy. Engaging in therapy can support emotional expression, deepen self-reflection, and open the door to self-compassion and empowerment. I have experience working with a wide range of concerns and tailor my approach to each individual. I recognize how self-expression and self-advocacy can sometimes be overshadowed by the ways people learn to protect themselves from pain. I also understand that the past can shape the present in subtle ways, and that societal expectations can lead us to disconnect from our true selves.

The greatest gifts you can give yourself is healing and self-acceptance. As a therapist, I view myself as a fellow traveler in your hero’s journey; you will be met with unconditional support, curiosity, safety, and compassion, alchemizing experiences into something magical and meaningful. Pulling from person-centered, narrative, anti-oppression, ACT, humor, DBT, logotherapy, and existential theories to assist in processing our inner and outer world while designing a tool kit to align actions and values. Not using treatment to dismiss or ignore injustice, learning ways to “dance in the moonlight” in spite of the darkness.

My approach is non-pathologizing and largely influenced by the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model.
The natural multiplicity of the mind is a GOOD thing and a recurring theme in psychological theory. Humans are beautifully complex and I believe this is actually a strength of ours. This approach is aimed at strengthening your relationship with both yourself and others in your life.

Danielle's overall work experience is in behavior medicine mainly addresses the health and mental health care needs of adults and children, often times involving substance abuse through a holistic approach, (or with the use of psychotropic medication when needed). I am also skilled in identifying maladaptive behaviors, which may inhibit a patient achieving optimal physical health, and implementing brief, focused interventions in decreasing or eradicating such behavior. In addition, I also use social and psychological evaluation techniques to promote physical health and wellness to underserved populations.

I enjoy working with a diverse group of clients. Some have never been to counseling before and are uncertain what they are looking for. Many are going through a difficult transition and seek help and support in moving through it. And others have been to counseling before, but continue facing the same struggles because of earlier traumas that still affect them. Common issues include: adjustments and life transitions, difficulty finding one’s voice due to parental programming, perfectionism that creates barriers to healthy and happy living, difficulties arising from unresolved childhood trauma, difficulties arising from other traumas
