Therapy with me is an active process. We’ll delve into the details when needed, utilize fundamental evidence-based tools, and create a space where we can be honest about what is going on.

The step to enter therapy is courageous, and it encompasses your willingness to connect, to be vulnerable, and to seek hope in healing. I see therapy as a way for clients to make change, to liberate one’s self from patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving that may not be serving you effectively. These patterns are often imposed by society, family, culture and/or gender. Therapy is a place to help navigate what comes with life’s challenges. In practice I specialize in OCD, infertility, postpartum, peri/post-menopause, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, trauma, life transitions, and other adjustment related stressors.

Something's gotten in the way of the life you want to be living.
Maybe it's OCD ; the relentless loop of doubt, the "what ifs," the exhausting rituals. Maybe it's trauma that lives in your body long after the events have passed. Maybe it's the particular kind of depletion that comes from being the person everyone else leans on.
Whatever brought you here, you don't have to navigate it alone. My approach is rooted in collaboration, honoring your strengths and nurturing the connections already within you.

While I tailor my specific approach to each individual client, I primarily use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and exposure and response prevention ( ERP).
I have received extensive training in prolonged exposure (PE), which is an evidenced-based treatment for PTSD. In this treatment I help clients limit avoidance behaviors and become less fearful and more confident. I will also help clients emotionally process the traumatic event(s) to effectively put the trauma in the past and regain control over their lives.

I will use ACT to help you accept who you are, ERP to help you face your anxiety head on via exposure to social situations you fear most, RO-DBT to help you "open up" to your playful and/or more creative side of yourself, and CBT to structure our sessions and define our goals, so you can have a better idea if you're progressing in the way YOU want to.
Do you find yourself struggling to connect with others? Do you find that anxiety, fear of judgement from others or symptoms of ADHD prevents you from meeting new people, creating deeper connections with acquaintances, finding a romantic partner, speaking your mind or attending social events altogether? Is it hard to show your real self in social situations or at work, so you "mask" or hide that part of yourself, because you find it difficult to accept who you are and criticize yourself often? Well, this doesn't have to be your experience forever.

Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) Therapists
Do I need exposure and response prevention therapy?
Many clients decide to seek help for obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors when these symptoms are distressing enough to disrupt everyday life. Any thoughts or behaviors that cause friction in close relationships are also worth addressing. In addition, the client’s symptoms don’t have to be severe for them to benefit from ERP therapy.
Is exposure and response prevention therapy part of cognitive behavioral therapy?
Exposure and response prevention is one specific type of CBT that focuses on behavioral change in response to triggering stimuli. It is related to exposure therapy but adds an additional component of preventing compulsive and harmful responses.
How long does exposure and response prevention therapy take?
While every patient is different, exposure and response prevention therapy typically lasts around 12 sessions, although some treatments can take longer. A therapist will determine if the treatment is complete based on how the client faces their fears, particularly the strongest ones. When a client feels less anxiety about stimuli that once evoked terror or distress, that is generally an indication that they are nearing the end of ERP therapy.
What are the limitations of exposure and response prevention therapy?
The most common pitfalls of exposure and response prevention therapy include not addressing a client’s core fears, allowing the client to avoid their most distressing stimuli, and using imaginary exposure when the client requires real-life exposure (and vice versa). ERP therapy is most effective when the client commits to the full course of treatment; if the client stops early or doesn’t practice what they have learned outside of therapy sessions, they are less likely to have successful outcomes.
