I work with clients who experience depression, anxiety and other mood disorders in addition to helping individuals navigate relationship difficulty, personal and professional transitions and health issues.
I seek to inspire and challenge individuals to discover their authentic selves and lead a more meaningful life. I work with individuals who are interested in personal and spiritual growth, looking to enhance their lives and are ready to make life-altering changes. I am eclectic in my approach and utilize existential, psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral interventions in combination with neuro-emotional technique (NET) and hypnosis. My method is unique and impactful because I assist in uncovering conscious and subconscious patterns and belief systems that trigger emotional responses and keeps us stuck in dysfunctional behaviors.

I work with adults experiencing difficulty in areas of their life including relationship difficulties, coping with divorce, identity exploration, emotion regulation, depression, anxiety.
The therapeutic dialogue is a unique collaboration in which exploration and growth can occur while addressing difficult issues around relationships and life. I work with clients to navigate challenges and explore the parts of themselves that have held them back or limited their ability to make satisfying decisions. Each person coming to therapy is in a different place with different needs. I meet them at that place and work with them to move forward and find healing. My goal is to approach clients with compassionate understanding.

I work with individuals, couples , adolescents, and families with a warm, authentic, and collaborative approach, aiming to create a safe and expansive space while honoring you as the expert of your own life. As a systemic therapist, I am curious about how we influence and are shaped by the many systems of which we are a part (relationships, family, faith/spiritual groups, gender, sexuality, culture, race/ethnicity, language). I value an integrative approach to therapy that includes mindfulness practices and connecting to the wisdom of the body.

Some areas in which I specialize are anxiety, depression, relationship issues/divorce and low self-esteem.
As a therapist, I work collaboratively with my clients in processing their experiences and finding healthy and productive ways to solve problems as well as gain insight into the reasons for maladaptive behaviors. In the treatment process, the client formulates their own treatment goals and we will work together to find ways to achieve these goals via modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral, Psychodynamic, Solutions-focused modalities. I see my role as one of support, guidance, active listening, and empowering the client to develop positive coping mechanisms in the process of making changes to thoughts and behaviors.

I work with adults dealing with a variety of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, food and body image, perinatal mental health, parenting, medication considerations, and relationship challenges with partners, family, and peers.
Repeated behaviors and feelings show up in our lives and can get in the way of growth, healing, and positive relationships. As your therapist, I will help you connect the dots in your life story to reveal what may be keeping you ‘stuck’. I have seen how transformative it is when someone gains a bird’s-eye view of their life, and I consider it a privilege to play an active role in this process with you.

I am dedicated to my role as your partner in your development—to be nonjudgmental, attentive, and interested—so that we can consider together what it takes to develop trust and what can get in the way.
People tend to develop certain ways of thinking about themselves, their relationships, and the world around them. It can be hard to think and operate outside of these tendencies, which is why particular problems or symptoms are often part of a bigger pattern built over the course of one’s lifetime. My work is focused on helping you learn to listen to yourself in new and expanded ways.

I am a bilingual and bi-cultural therapist who values the strength of a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship . You might feel overwhelmed with finding a therapist if you are already feeling stuck. It can be hard to find someone to disclose your feelings to a "new person" during your time of vulnerability. My warm, empathetic, and non-directive approach has helped those new to therapy feel comfortable disclosing their most difficult emotions and experiences. My approach is collaborative, where I can guide you to find the right tools to feel in control of your life again.

Couples Counseling Therapists

Does couples counseling work?

Research shows that couples counseling is effective; it can reduce relationship distress and improve emotional awareness, communication, empathy, intimacy, and overall relationship satisfaction. For example, emotionally focused therapy was found to be effective for about 75 percent of couples, and those benefits lasted at least two years.

When should a couple seek counseling?

Couples can benefit from counseling if they consistently struggle in their relationship. They may have lost the ability to communicate effectively, become entrenched in harmful patterns, begun to fight more than usual, broken the other’s trust, suffered from a mental or physical illness, or faced any number of other challenges. Many therapists offer free consultations, so if a couple isn’t sure whether therapy is necessary, asking directly can provide clarity.

How can I get my partner to go to couples therapy?

The decision to seek couples therapy is often driven by one partner, who then convinces the other to participate. When discussing the idea, the initiator should be direct and assertive. They can state the problems they see and explain how the relationship would benefit from therapy. In more serious cases, they can also explain how their relationship may suffer without making any changes or seeking professional help.

How does a couple prepare for couples counseling?

The anticipation of beginning couples counseling can be difficult—sometimes more difficult than the first session itself. Taking a few moments to reflect can allay those concerns: What are the current challenges? When and how did they begin? What do they want the relationship to look like in the future? Reflecting on these questions can help individuals or couples articulate their goals. Of course, the therapist will also ask questions and guide couples through the process.
