Life is a journey filled with ups and downs, and sometimes, we all need a moment to pause, reflect, and seek guidance. It takes courage to carve out time for yourself to process, heal, and embrace new beginnings. For adolescents especially, it is incredibly brave to explore your authentic self and future path.

Hi there! You’re bullied by an unrelenting inner critic. It’s crushing your self-esteem. You work so hard to do everything right and check all the boxes, never letting down your guard, never letting them see you sweat. But the pressure to succeed is overwhelming and results in burnout. Struggling with feelings of guilt and selfishness as you balance two worlds is exhausting. And fear of asserting yourself authentically with those closest to you is keeping you up at night. It’s getting harder and harder to keep pretending you’re okay and everything is starting to fall apart: your work, your relationships, your health.

At times, you may feel like there isn't enough time or space to stay true to yourself and honor your strengths and visions. The clients I work with may experience various barriers to fully tap into their uniqueness and inner strengths, and they benefit from a safe and affirming space to explore intersectional identities, complex trauma, and stress as well as learning and experimenting with coping skills and alternative behaviors at their own pace. I enjoy supporting individuals that are LGBTQ+, immigrants/alien residents, neurodivergent, navigating complex/intergenerational trauma, and/or experiencing substance use issues.

你是否常常被家庭关系困住,感到内疚、羞耻,或觉得自己永远不够好?也许你会不断回想过去的冲突,背负着文化或代际的期待,或是在设立界限时,总觉得自己辜负了别人。

As a bilingual sex therapist, I am among a small group of practitioners in the US who identify as Asian and provide therapy in both Mandarin and Cantonese.
For many years, I’ve been the only East Asian face in the room. I came to the U.S. from China as an international student. While studying for my MA in Health Communication at Indiana University, I was the only East Asian consultant at the Speaker’s Lab and University Writing Center. Later, I was the only East Asian social worker at the University of Michigan’s Counseling Center. I understand the dissonance and complexity that can come with cultural identity. I specialize in working with international individuals, immigrants, and pan-Asian communities, from those newly arrived to those raised in multigenerational immigrant families.

While others think you are good enough in the eyes of others, but you still don't feel good enough while you evaluate yourself. If you have tried a lot of consultations and still don't feel free and peaceful, then maybe it's time, you can try to explore the subconscious and focus on interpersonal relationships.

I am passionate in helping you be open about your experiences that can be uncomfortable to talk about. I understand the difficulty in being vulnerable with others and how to move forward with that in mind. I am driven by ongoing stigma in seeking mental health counseling services. I can help you remove that stigma and let you know that it is okay to experience depression, anxiety, life changes, and feelings like being overwhelmed in life. I believe anyone can benefit from therapy, and can help you be mindful of yourself, explore your roots, and feel strong and confident in your identity and life experiences.

I’m a licensed associate marriage and family therapist offering therapy in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, enabling me to provide culturally sensitive care to a broad range of clients.
You care about each other, but something’s shifted. Conversations feel more tense or distant, and it’s harder to connect the way you used to. Maybe you’re stuck in the same arguments, or feeling misunderstood, lonely, or unsure how to repair. You want to feel close again, but you're not sure where to start. Maybe this is your first time in therapy. Maybe you’re here as a last-ditch effort. Either way, something in you still hopes for clarity, connection, or healing. That’s where I come in.

Additionally, I speak conversational Cantonese, basic Korean, and basic Japanese.
Do you find yourself caught in a cycle of self-criticism, leading to persistent feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness? Do your emotions sometimes overwhelm you, resulting in reactions that feel disproportionate to the situation? Navigating relationships can become even more challenging when affected by family dynamics. Maybe you have been having concerns with relationships, trauma, anxiety, depression, grief/ loss, career/school stress, life transitions, and self-harm. Perhaps you’ve become discouraged by your attempts to help yourself. That’s what I’m here for.
