I provide both in-person and online therapy, utilizing a narrative and emotionally focused approach, informed by an attachment-based lens.
As a relational therapist, I work with individuals, couples, and families as they navigate anxiety, depression, trust and communication, and life cycle transitions. I enjoy working with clients of all cultural backgrounds, sexualities and non-traditional relationships, as they navigate different phases of life. As a therapist, I hope to provide a communicative, collaborative space in which we can make meaning of the client's lived experiences to foster healing and growth on an interpersonal and intrapersonal level. As a queer, woman of color, I hold space for the multiple identities in which clients identify.

I am well-versed in helping people reclaim agency over their mental space with cognitive-behavioral techniques, access the wisdom of their bodies through somatic practices, and re-write their story towards life affirmation with narrative and attachment-based therapies.
It is incredibly natural to feel overwhelmed in our present world. As mounting global stressors such as the COVID-19 pandemic and impending climate disaster compound the everyday stressors inherent to work, school, and relationships, it can feel like your emotional well-being is as difficult as it is important to maintain. It is my privilege to support people who want to do the brave work of releasing patterns of stuckness and embracing new, life-affirming narratives. I believe every human has the potential to heal towards deeper alignment with purpose, and am here for those seeking accompaniment in their transformation.

The areas of focus and populations I enjoy and have experience working with include adults and adolescents with attachment-based and cultural issues, relational and developmental trauma, depression, anxiety, ADHD, relationship issues, life transitions, chronic illness, career burn out, and healthcare workers.
Life is all about the journey, not the destination, so why not receive some help along the way? I strive to provide a safe and casual virtual therapy space where individuals can be their authentic self, or try and find who their authentic self truly is. Whether you're a teen trying to navigate big emotions and peer relationships or an adult who is feeling "stuck" in their life, I am here to walk along side you through whatever journey in life you are on. My purpose is to help you work through your goals and gain a deeper understanding of how your experiences, thoughts, emotions, body and patterns in your life are impacting you.

I deeply respect and value the courage that it takes for an individual to seek therapy. It is an incredible gift to oneself. Echoing the words of Erich Fromm, I wholeheartedly believe that “whether we or not we are aware of it, there is nothing of which we are more ashamed than of not being ourselves, and there is nothing that gives us greater pride and happiness than to think, to feel and say what is ours”. While fostering a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust and authenticity, I seek to emphasize each individual's unique strengths and skills as we sort out the emotional distress together.

I specialize in trauma work from an attachment-based lens, focusing on parental, family and generational traumas. Your brain and body are not just connected but are a single system- your nervous system. This is why your body also carries trauma and stress. I integrate somatic/body-based therapies to help with managing strong emotions, numbness and dissociation. Learning how to ground yourself, both feel and regulate your emotions, and form healthy attachments in your relationships can be life-changing. Trauma can change your brain and your connection to your body, but we’ve proven healing to be equally powerful.

I also often incorporate interpersonal and attachment-based theories and methods.
My areas of interest include working with adolescents, young adults, and families/couples. In addition, as a South Asian immigrant, I am passionate about working with the BIPOC and immigrant communities to help normalize therapy. I know that these populations often experience struggles specifically relating to their identity and culture and thus I am always working through a culturally competent lens and learning how intersectionality affects one’s mental health. Overall, I help guide those I work with through life challenges, the difficulties of interpersonal relationships, the complex reactions of trauma, and anxiety/stress.

My practice specializes in providing individual therapy to women of all ages who are struggling with attachment trauma, anxiety, divorce, motherhood, and relationship conflict. My specializations include attachment focused EMDR, perinatal mental health, insecure attachment, anxiety, and trauma. I offer attachment informed psychotherapy which is based off the principle that early relationships with caregivers profoundly influence our ability to trust and feel safe with others. This can show up most commonly in our adult relationships.

I pull from different modalities such as CBT, ACT, and attachment-based interventions to suit each individual’s unique needs.
It seems every mug or t-shirt these days has the slogan, “choose happiness”. The truth of it is, it’s not as easy as just waking up and choosing to feel better. The “good vibes only” culture attempts to minimize the reality that part of the human experience includes a large range of emotions, not just the comfortable ones. Every step of your journey is important and valid. All vibes are welcome here; I will meet you where you are.

She draws on narrative therapy, Internal Family Systems, attachment-based interventions, and Gottman Method to encourage self-exploration and self-compassion.
Meg works with clients from a variety of backgrounds and presenting issues. She understands how much courage it requires to start a healing journey and is ready to make the process affirming and empowering. Many of her clients have a lot of why questions - "Why can't I control these feelings?" "Why can I not stop these behavioral patterns?" She wants you to know you are not alone and that all of these questions and difficult emotions are welcome.

Most recently, the bulk of my work is trauma-informed, relying heavily on attachment-based models of therapy, as well as sensorimotor, mindfulness, and neurologically informed interventions.
I consider myself to be a trauma-informed therapist. I believe that each experience in one's life leaves an imprint on the mind & body; thus, informing how one responds to the world. There is a rhyme & reason to these responses, and none of it is about being "wrong," "damaged," or "not good enough" (words I often hear from individuals in my practice). The goal of therapy with me is to help you learn to compassionately connect with, soothe and heal these hurting parts, so that you may be able to let go, engage, and thrive in your personal and professional life. I believe healing is possible for anyone willing to work at it.

Therapy can be a very daunting, ambiguous, and scary process that first begins with finding a therapist that is a good fit for you. The therapeutic relationship is a very unique relationship and a lot different from many of the relationships we experience in our everyday lives. It is the most important component of the therapeutic process, which is why building a strong therapeutic alliance and establishing trust with my clients is my top priority. As a therapist, I emphasize the importance of meeting my clients where they are, being genuine and authentic, and creating space for my clients to safely come back home to themselves.

Attachment-based Therapists

Is attachment-based therapy the same as attachment therapy?

Attachment-based therapy may be confused with what is called “attachment therapy” (sometimes called “holding therapy”), a discredited and dangerous approach to treating children with attachment disorders, autism, or other mental health concerns. Attachment therapy—not attachment-based therapy—may involve restraining a child, forcing eye contact, and other coercive or abusive techniques. None of these practices are used in attachment-based therapy and the two modalities are in no way related.

What should I expect from attachment-based therapy?

Attachment-based therapy is based on attachment theory, which posits that children’s early relationships with their caregivers strongly influence their ability to navigate the world later in life. Thus, adults who seek attachment-based therapy should expect to deeply explore their childhood, identifying the dynamics or experiences that disrupted their attachment and the steps necessary to overcome challenges that arose as a result. Parents and children should expect to explore the possible factors that disrupted the parent-child relationship and work toward restoring trust and connection.

How long does attachment-based therapy last?

Certain forms of attachment-based therapy, especially those designed for parents and children, last for a set number of sessions; for example, Attachment and Biobehavioral Catch-Up, a specific attachment-based approach for young children who have undergone early adversity, unfolds over 10 one-hour sessions. When attachment-based therapy is practiced on adults or combined with other modalities, it may not last a specific length of time; clients may wish to ask prospective therapists how long they expect treatment to take.

Does attachment-based therapy work?

Most of the research on attachment-based therapy focuses on children and adolescents. Some of this research shows a positive effect, especially for attachment-based family therapy (ABFT). Other studies, however, have found that attachment-based therapy is no more effective than other approaches to childhood depression, anxiety, or suicidality. Less is known about the therapy’s efficacy on adult populations.
