I place a heavy emphasis on authenticity, vulnerability, and connection when it comes to mental health. I believe that if addiction is a disease of isolation, then the solution to that is connection, with oneself and others. In my work with clients, I believe in helping them to cultivate self-acceptance, which leads to an improved sense of self-worth and greater love for oneself. Additionally, I encourage clients to have compassion for themselves, while having an appreciation for the therapeutic process. I consider it my role to help others discover and become their true self, so that what’s on the inside matches the outside.

Everyone has a story they want to express, challenges they overcome, and some have limited outlets to speak. I will offer a safe space where you can be heard, and enjoy the sessions with my level of authenticity and support. There will be care and laughter; I am a firm believer in laughter and smiles bringing joy to one's world.

Today’s environment makes many assumptions about the nature of psychological health, oftentimes seeing depression, anxiety, or other psychological concerns as problems to be avoided and eradicated. However, there is much that our symptoms can teach us about ourselves and our world if we know how to listen to them. Sometimes, they may even hold the key to our psychological well-being.

I have provided individual, couples, and family therapy to adults and adolescents for over 18 years. I have experience working with individuals and families from varied ethnic/cultural/sexual orientation backgrounds. My therapeutic orientation includes cognitive behavioral, strengths-based and person-centered approaches. I am a strong believer in "one size does not fit all" and adapt my approach based on client's needs and belief systems. I am supportive but can be directive when the clinical need arises. Currently, I only see clients on Wednesdays. I conduct therapy in Spanish as well.

Drawing on a variety of tools, we will collaborate on a treatment plan that fits your needs, goals, and values. My approach to therapy is emotive, cathartic, and cognitive. I work with people with many identities and from diverse backgrounds. Let's work together to explore and clarify who you are, how you got here, and what works best for you in all aspects of life. It’s important to acknowledge that we are all affected by toxic aspects of our culture and many of us operate under different axes of oppression. It’s never too late to reclaim your agency in life.

I enjoy working with clients who want to undertake the often rigorous but ultimately rewarding journey of psychotherapy towards self-evolution. This is through the reflection and interpretation of defenses, -blind spots-, that are obstacles to best living. My strengths are working with people who take responsibility for their lives but are struggling in moving forward due to painful or distressing life situations, whether past or current. My approach offers no magic remedies, but through conversation based on respect and straightforward comments, together we aim to improve your quality of life.

Does your world ever feel intense, confusing, or just out of control? Maybe your emotions feel bigger than you want them to be, you second-guess yourself, you spiral or shut down, or feel stuck in patterns that aren't working. I work with adults who feel disconnected from themselves and their life. Our work is about slowing down to notice what you’ve been holding. I use trauma-informed, body-based (somatic) approaches to get to the root of the patterns, parts, and stories that keep you stuck.

I enjoy working with clients who are ready to explore their stories, deepen their self awareness, and build healthier, more authentic connections with themselves and with others.

Seeking support is not often easy, and in engaging with therapy you have taken a very important step. I believe that there is no single therapeutic method that works for all people, and I instead look forward to meeting you where you are, building a trusting relationship, and collaborating with you on your goals while we create a personalized path towards empowering you and reducing your suffering. In walking this path together, we can work towards a better understanding of your Self, including your joys, sorrows, challenges, and strengths, as well as how you navigate the world.
